somewhere nice - not too dear

We were on an overbooked Emirates flight yesterday and as compensation we got a free return flight back to Dubai - So we are looking at somewhere to stay.

Ideally with a selection of bars and resturants, hopefully near the beach with a nice pool - any suggestions.

We stayed in RAK this week and it was an all inclusive hotel - so we have no idea of the cost of eating and drinking in Dubai - do any hotels do all inclusive?? If not could someone give me an idea of the cost of beer and a reasonable meal??

Wow you did well to get that as compensation.

You don't say what month you're planning to visit so that will make a huge difference to your finances. The summer months are the cheapest because of the intense heat.

You could look at an apartment around the Marina area but if you're looking for a hotel with a pool then the cheapest is the Hilton. The Hilton is on the Walk with plenty of places to choose from to eat at. There are some fabulous hotels along the beach and they're all 5 star.

Food is an expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. You can get a McD in the mall for less than we pay here. A general meal is no more expensive than the UK. Most of the hotel are not AI. You don't give a budget so it's difficult to recommend any one particular hotel.

The best thing to do with alcohol is to buy it at the airport in arrivals and take it back to the hotel with you as it is not the cheapest in any of the hotels.

Ha ha.

I answered your question on another topic you posted on and said almost exactly the same as Daisy

tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g295424-i872-k70…

On that topic you asked about Royal Meridien hotel, which is right on the beach and around £300 a night.

If the we'ans are going with you then I would look at a 2 bedroom apartment with beach access such as

Hilton Residences

Grosvenor House Hotel apartments

BUT

Price is depenedant on when you go and if you want something 'not too dear' tell us when you are thinking of going and how much that would be per night for you and we can make other suitable suggestions
