World cup opening ceremony in Dubai

Hi, we will be in Dubai for the opening ceremony and the first World cup game which will kick off at midnight in Dubai. Can anyone familiar with Dubai recommend a great place to watch the opening ceremony and game at that time of night. We are staying in the Al Barsha area near Mall of the Emirates.

We can watch it in our hotel room, but we don't mind catching a taxi to a good spot.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Barasti in Meridien hotel on Al Sofooh road usually have a large tent with large screens and a good vibe to watch world up games based on previous cups.

I also go to emirates golf club to watch them on the large screen.

Both places are 10-15 min by car from Al Barsha.

Barasti last world cup had a 1ooo capacity giant football shaped structure built on the beach with bars and cinema screens inside, that atmosphere was amazing. If they do that again then that's the place to be

Do you need to be a guest staying in the hotel to attend the screening at Barasti?

Do they take bookings or do we just turn up?

If and that's if, they do the same thing they did last time then , No you don't have to be a guest, you just walk into the hotel entrance, straight past reception and out into the back where the pools and beach is,

the bar is down to you left and if they have the giant football again then it will be impossible to miss, be sure to get there at least 2 hours before to be in with a chance of getting inside it otherwise you'll just be standing in a massive queue. That would just be for the giant football and not the main Barasti bar.

I'll be there in time for the second semi final and the final, but the chance of England getting that far will take a miracle lol

Don't forget that Ramadan is due to start halfway through the tournament on about June 28th, I am not sure what the implications of this will be for bars showing the World Cup finals.

Bars will serve alcohol after sunset.

In previous years some clubs/bars close for the whole month and give staff vacations or do renovations. however, the ones that stay open do serve alcohol after sunset. so no implications in my opinion.
