Duty free

We are going through Dubai on our way to and from Mauritius 9flying from Glasgow). We want to work out whether it will be cheaper for us to buy our duty free in Glasgow or Dubai -we usually buy gin, cigarettes for family, Clarins, estee lauder, clinique. Any info re the prices in Dubai would be appreciated. Also, is there a chemists at dubai airport to buy the things we can't take in our hand luggage. Thanks.

Our DF is definitely cheaper. You can google the website up for their email id and ask them for prices, they reply very quickly. You can also ask them about the pharmacy (note pharmacy not chemist!) as I actually can't remember if there is one.

Yes there is a pharmacy/chemist. It's well stocked and is between gate 20 and 22 just by the Gulf Air lounge.

The price of drink is slightly cheaper in Dubai duty free.I cannot remember the cost of gin but whisky JW red label was 52 dir Baileys was roughly the same price as at home airports so there is no point in carrying xs weight.cigarettes are certainly cheaper than Glasgow as is the same with most perfumes and Dubai has a lot more selection although the arrival duty free section is about the same size as Glasgow. The duty free on departure side from Dubai is large and very good.
