Please help with planning!! Short notice.

Hi we (myself, husband and our 4 month old baby) are stopping over in Dubai for a day and half in mid October. We land in Dubai at 1pm on a Tuesday and depart at 3am on the Thursday.

Help needed:

1) shall we book accommodation for 2 nights? Our main checked luggage will be with us

2) which area will be most convenient considering baby and the limited time frame?

3) the maximum we are happy to pay is £130 per room per night. We are looking for a spacious room (breakfast to be included) in a nice hotel. We are not fans of seasides/beaches and we want to avoid high-traffic areas.

4)would you recommend booking accommodation via booking agents like trivago, Expedia etc (no experience using them before) or directly through the hotel website?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Unfortunately dubai has a lot of traffic and most city hotels are in built up areas so a quiet city based hotel is not that easy to come across but have a look at jumeirah Creekside hotel , a deluxe room is more spacious than the standard superior room. It is less than 5 mins drive to the airport but in a fairly quiet location and they do rooms at the back of the hotel overlooking the side street away from the traffic. It has grounds to walk around in and is close to an Irish bar and century village with reasonable places to eat

The crowne plaza at festival city is also a good venue for a short stopover and it's connected to a mall but it may be out of budget .

Also look at le meridien dubai an older hotel but again has nice grounds albeit the rooms are not huge.

There are lots of apartments around deira and sheikh stayed road but there are built up areas so it depends on what you prefer, also bear in mind October is a pricey time of year.

There are hundreds of internet companies such as Expedia, travelbag, best at travel. I tend to avoid booking.com as they do not include taxes so there is an additional 20% to add on top of their quote
