Family Friendly Hotel in Siam Reap (and any other tips)

We are planning to visit Siam Riep in Jan 11 (I like to plan trips early) and would like some recommendations for hotels that would be moderately priced and good for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 girls aged 5 & 6).

We stayed at the Day Inn (now called the Royal Bay Inn - check both names if looking on websites like Agoda or Otel) in Sept last year - great pool, fabulous b'fasts. approx $50 per night per room (which were big enough to fit two additional beds for the girls - though not sure if the hotel would do this - they may have 'family' rooms) We're returning in April for a week. There are others closer to town, some with a pool others without - though I'd definately suggest a pool for the girls. Lots of other recommendations on this forum for both hotels and guesthouses check out the hotels link in the left hand navigation bar for others and reviews.

As you are getting in early with your planning (isn't planning half the fun of a holiday !!), you should also check out the FAQ page tripadvisor.com/Travel-g297390-c120308/Siem-… and then follow the link at the bottom to the Canby site for more great info which includes stuff on accommodation options, itineraries etc.

for some ideas of what we did in our 4 days there have a look at tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293939-i9162-k230…

happy planning

Depends on your budget, Day Inn ended up being too expensive for us as we were a family of 3. We stayed at the City River Hotel as it was the end of a month long trip to Cambodia and for us was a bit of a luxury!

Quiet location, good breakfatst roof top pool and terrrific staff. Rooms wre very spacious which was a plus. Only a 5 minute walk to Pub Street.

Would love to stay at Day inn and maybe next time we will! When we get to travel with no kids!

We are heading to Siem Reap on 18 Jan (this year!) with our two girls - 8 and 11. We are staying at the Bopha Angkor on advise from a fellow Trip Advisor from Wagga, as it is one of only a few hotels in SR with a connecting room. I will let you know how it goes when i return. cheers Karen

check out the website - it is traditional Khmer and looks nice, it also has good reviews on TA.

Journeyswithin is great for kids, it is a little from the centre of town but not really a problem. Nice pool and play area for the kids. Nice rooms too plus they have mini apartment which sleeps 4 persons.

Bopha Angkor is pretty is nice and is in a good location.

There a number of bigger hotels with connecting rooms though.

Royal Bay Inn was fantastic for our family of four (8 & 9 yr old girls). Had interconnecting rooms. Pool is fantastic and essential for post temple cool off. Walk or short tuk tuk ride to great restaurants. Staff very helpful.
