Hi,

Yes, there are monkeys in the jungle surrounding the temples, you often see them on the road to Angkor, around the south gate of Angkor Thom and in Angkor Wat itself... Don't approach them as they can be unpredictable and will bite if they feel the need

Cheers

Hello coconut-monkey09,

Are you making a money of us?

Only joking.

Yes, there are lots of monkeys in the temples area but not in the town of Siem Reap itself.

Many of these monkeys come down to the tourist areas in late afternoon to be fed. They can be seen especially in the north-west corner of Angkor Wat and along the roadway from the temple ticket office and corner area opposite Angkor Wat moat.

But always remember that these are wild monkeys and a bite from them can result in tetanus.

All best regards. Ian
