Streets Or Areas

Just wondering if there are many other interesting streets/areas besides Pub Street in Siem Reap as this seems to be the only one that people seem to talk about? Would like to hear if you have found a street that should not be missed.

Cheers

the central area of SR isn't really that big ... plenty to wander around apart from Pub St - which is crawling with tourists

As pointed out the central 'entertainment area' around 'Pub Street' is tiny. Also keep in mind that Siem Reap is basically a service town.

If you are looking to escape the hordes then why not try one or two of the beer gardens scattered just on the towns outskirts which cater in the main to locals but welcome all. Failing that you could treat a local family to a night at the circus, no not 'Pub Street', the genuine one just up from the Sivatha Street / Airport Road intersection.

For me, the tree-lined river is the most pleasant part of town. The river is flanked by 2 parallel streets that are lined with quieter eating and drinking places. All other parts of town are dusty and dirty typical 3rd-world scene of broken pavements and haphazard traffic.
