International transfer in Suwarnabhumi and luggage

Hi!

I will fly with Finnair to Suwarnabhumi and continue to Siem Reap with Bangkok Airways.

I will check in my luggage in Helsinki to Finnair plane so that it would be transferred to Siem Reap flight in Suwarnabhumi,

Does it work this way, or should I immigrate to Thailand, claim luggage, take it to 4th flloor and check it in at BKK Airways desk to Siem Reap?

Hi,

Finnair have an interline agreement with Bangkok Airways so they can certainly check through your baggage all the way to Siem Reap meaning you would stay 'airside' in Bangkok and stay 'in transit' - no immigration necessary.

However, if you bought the tickets separately then Finnair don't have to do this and it would be up to their discretion whether they did or not, usually a smile works though.

Cheers

THX for the quick answer.

I bought all flights, HEL-BKK, BKK-REP, REP-BKK, BKK-HEL from Finnair, so it will, according to Your message, work just well.

Hi,

Yes, in that case you will stay in transit at Suvarnabumi and your luggage will go straight through to REP. They will probably issue boarding cards for the REP flight in HEL too, if not you just pick them up at the Bangkok Airways transit desk in the international concourse at BKK. Don't forget that Bangkok Airways have free lounges that you can use.

Cheers

Always pack some spare underwear in your hand luggage, just in case.

Also you should confirm or ask at the check in desk at Helsinki that your luggage is checked in to your final destination.

important ... to be sure that the label is read by the optical scanner , the sticker on your luggage must have the final bare code and indication "REP"

and I always have some spare stuff in my hand luggage, just in case

have a good journey
