First trip to Shenzhen at the end of the year for hubby and I and am starting to look at options now. We will be in HK for 7 nights then I am deciding between doing a 1-2 night trip to Macau and travelling straight from Macau to Shekou Port and spending 4 nights in Shenzhen before heading back to HK or doing it in the opposite direction (HK to Shenzhen to Macau then back to HK).
I have found a couple of posts on entry at both borders and it seems that less people take the Shekou route. Does anyone have any advise on what could be better or are they much a muchness? My initial thoughts are there might be less queues coming into Shekou.
I am thinking of staying at Best Western Felicity near commercial city for either the full 4 nights in Shenzhen or breaking the stay to the first night being closer to Shekou and the remaining three nights at Best Western (as I want to see Window of the World, Splendid China and Seaworld). Looked at perhaps staying on the ship at Seaworld on the first night but the reviews don't look so flash. Also looked at Fraser near the port as I have stayed at Frasers in Osaka and they were fantastic. Thought if we arrived in the morning and dropped off our luggage we would be able to spend the rest of the day and following day doing those things before heading to shopping central!
Thank you in advance for anyone willing to offer some ideas.
