Travelling between Yichang and Nanjing

Hi,

Which is the best option to travel between Yichang and Naging (bus or train)

Can I go to the railway station and book for the same day travel ?

Thanks

Train, absolutely. Specifically, high speed D or G train, they'll get you there in around 6 hours, arriving at Nanjing South station. Second class seat is RMB 253, first class seat RMB 304 so might as well go first class. While usually there are last minute tickets on some of the daily departures (except holiday periods), I'd personally get a ticket in advance. You can buy this ticket in another city in China, assuming you'll be in China during part of the 18-day window ahead of when you want to travel out of Yichang. There are usually two morning high speed departures and three in the afternoon, last one at 15:35. Be careful with planning if you are coming into Yichang on a Yangtze Cruise and wanting to depart same day--it is possible but depends when your boat docks.

If you first land in Beijing or Shanghai then you can buy from that train station and not wait at the last minute.
