I wanted to make a positive post about the tour guide we hired for our recent (and first) trip to Cartagena. Please see my review of the Sofitel Santa Clara for a review of our hotel stay, and some pictures.
Our guide was Henry (email@example.com) who is written about in a post below about an "excellent english speaking guide". I could have put this comment in that thread but wanted to create a new one because we had a very good experience with him and I hope he finds more business, so thought a new topic would stand out more.
The cost was $25 USD per person, not including tip. For this we had a 3 hour walking tour of the city. We spent most of our time in the old walled city as we didn't have a lot of time, though we did visit the Fort as well. Admission to the Fort was not included so we paid for this ourselves. As was mentioned in the other thread, Henry speaks fluent English, knows the history of Cartagena, and is a good guy and hard worker. He communicated great with us over email before we got there as we confirmed details, and he met us right on time at 8:15am at our hotel on the morning of our tour.
For the price I don't think the value can be beat. So this is my friendly recommendation for Henry. Give him a shot if you're looking for a tour guide. Muchas Gracias Henry!
