Atlantic City is an old city that could use a little scrubbing in some spots, but the area around Caesars --anywhere along Pacific Avenue in the casino district, really-- are fine. I would not be concerned if I were you.

Besides, you've the the Roman statue watching over the whole place! LOL

It really depends on where you are planning to walk to. The immediate area around Ceasars may be fine but a couple of blocks away from the boardwalk may not be. The area around Georgia, Florida and Texas ave has a drug and gang problem and the area between Ballys and Resorts also is a drug and prostitution area. As long as you walk in a group and not very late at night and stay on the main streets you should be fine. If you have a destination in mind you want to walk to let us know and several people will give you their opinion. Personally I usually stick to the boardwalk if I'm walking from one casino to another.

I would second what jerry said about walking on the Boardwalk, if you are just going from casino to casino. The Boardwalk is the city's signature attraction outiside of the casinos, so you might as well walk it and see it.

The good news is that Ceasar's is right by The Walk [http://www.acoutlets.com/] which is outlet shopping along Michigan Ave. You can walk from boardwalk [or thru the garage] past the hospital to The Walk and area is 'safe' as it was designed as a tourist attraction. You can walk all the way to the bay [well almost]. It terminates a the train station/ convention center. here is a map of The Walk.

Also, the boardwalk and The Pier [http://www.thepieratcaesars.com/] should be safe at night, but crowded. Try walking to the Steel Pier [http://www.steelpier.com/] at night . I suggest the bungee ride.

On Sunday nights, at Kennedy Plaza [accross from Boardwalk Hall], free oldtime movies are offered and also a Mini-golf course there.
