Taking a child to AC

I know, I know...not a great place for a kid. But I will be there for a weekend in June and my 8 year old daughter has to go with. I have my choice of hotels/cost not an issue. Can anyone suggest a a nice, clean SAFE hotel that may have some things a kid/parent can do. I won't be gambling this trip, so casino is not necessary. Your advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I've stayed at Caesars with my children. They have a pool (being renovated now, but should be ready by the time you go). There is also miniature golf on the boardwalk, the beach, the pier rides. I think there are also some arcade shops on the boardwalk. My kids also like to go into the store called It's Sugar -- which is candy galore. There is a small light show in the back of the pier shops at Caesars.

I hope this helps. Have fun!

I forgot this one -- the Rain Forest Cafe is near Caesars on the boardwalk, which is a restaurant that has the setting of a rain forest with mechanical animals that move and make noises -- It's fun to go once.

I attempted to cut & paste several posts together, but I may have missed some stuff & unsure if the links copy correctly.

The Central has a large arcade w/slot machines, skeeball and other skill games that give rewards; you play, you get tokens/tickets, you redeem at counter for glitter covered knick-knacks & the like. There are also claw machines. If the weather is nice the largest go-kart track in southern NJ [opens on nice days all seasons, niece & nephew just rode them Black Friday] & outdoor shooting gallery. there is also a 99cent store

The Garden Pier has 2 museums w/ free admission, free parking http://www.acmuseum.org/ http://www.acartcenter.org/

the youngun will probably enjoy It'Sugar in Ceasars Pier http://www.itsugar.com/ thepiershopsatcaesars.com/IM/…

& you can go to Starbucks on level 2 for a nice ocean view & hot chocolate for the youngun thepiershopsatcaesars.com/IM/… Since Starbucks is usually too crowded, try going to 3rd level as there are several adirondack chairs placed upon fake dunes that you can view the ocean

A dining suggestion is Los Amigos http://www.losamigosrest.com/AC/about.php , by The Walk www.acoutlets.com

Absecon Lighthouse on the way to the aquarium. http://www.abseconlighthouse.org/ You may not have the energy to climb 228 steps to the top of NJ's tallest lighthouse, but here is coupon for $1 off http://atlanticcitynj.com/Coupon.asp?CliID=3

The AC aquarium http://www.acaquarium.com/

[$7 adults, $4 ages 4-12] is inexpensive and here is a coupon for buy 1 get 1 free achotelexperts.com/coupons/ac_aquarium.htm

They have live feeding on Saturdays @ noon. It costs an additional $2 & there are only so many allowed to feed the sharks & rays so try to get there early.

Lucy the Elephant will be open http://www.lucytheelephant.org/indexhi.html

Ru tired already from just reading it all?

Why don't you check out which hotels have indoor and out door pools so in case of bad weather you daughter can still swim, also why not stay at the end of the boardwalk by the amusements thst way it won't be a long walk if you wanted to take her on a few rides. a few years ago I stayed at Caesars with my grandchildren and it was a long walk down to the rides. have a good time

I usually have nothing to contribute to child in AC posts, but this time I actually do! lol

A good place to stay is the Wyndham Skyline Towers. tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g29750-d549383-…

A friend of mine owns a time share there and I stayed with her once. I remember thinking it would be a great place to stay with kids. They had lists of all kinds of kid friendly activities like face painting and stuff that went on during the day. You could also check out board games and things like that from the front desk.

It's located near the Resorts casino. The only downside is they charge $10/day to park. But if that is a problem you can park at Resorts and walk over.
