rip currents

The ocean is still really cold, but there is a risk of rip currents thru this weekend - suggest to maybe go to a pool

I heard that three people drowned in Atlantic city and Wildwood this weekend. Bad weekend for riptides because of hurricane Berthe.

Currents are deadly. If you're not an advanced swimmer, stay on shore (have a drink at a beach bar :o) )

It's much more fun!!!

4. Re: rip currents

The unfortunate man who died in Atlantic City died of natural causes, he didn't drown. The lifeguards got him to their boat, but it looks like it was something like a heart attack or similar.

In Wildwood, it was a bad mix of poor judgment and testosterone ... they tried to swim out to a buoy, which is always a bad move even in calm water. Swimming out to a buoy is kind of like climbing to the summit of Mount Everest ... the hard part isn't getting there, the hard part is getting back safely.
