Waterfront Harrahs rooms now comped

I guess they are not filling these since I now have them comped for all nights including weekends. In the past they have been listed with a price when every other room in AC (Excpet HOB Suites) were comped.

Buff - Don't forget that even though you book this room category, the type of room you actually end up in is determined when you arrive. I hope they're not dangling these nice rooms in front of us to pull a bait and switch. Honestly, I wouldn't put it past them. Last weekend my friend went to check in at Showboat, and was told she was being moved to Harrah's. It was a big deal to her, since she had her kids with her and was planning to spend the day on the beach and boardwalk. She's only Platinum, and she was NOT happy!

Nothing new here really...we stayed for free in a Waterfront room the first weekend they were opened and last Friday we were given the choice of a Bayview or Watefront room at check in...we took a Bayview and we think they are nicer! FYI...the guy next to us was paying $239 plus tax for his room and it made my wife and I try to think back to the last time we paid for a room in AC.

It was new for me. Even though I have stayed free in the Waterfront Tower I wasn't able to book it free till today. Everything used to be comped EXCEPT Waterfront tower. But, even not reserving it, they always ask at check-in if I want it since they have not been filling up like they expected. But now it comes up comped online too. i guess they gave up trying to charge for it?

Harrahs "booking" is so stupid. Why offer rooms to folks who will be put in whatever tower they have when you get there.

I think we would all like to know that!

I have to say, though, I have never been switched at Caesars, maybe 12 trips, I always get Centurion, and Harrahs only switch is to offer me a better room, and Showboat will only switch me if there is no non-smoking 2 beds when I get there, and I actually like NT there anyway, so Bally's is the only place that screws with me. Easy enough to solve, won't stay there, plenty of great potions in AC!

Borgata did the same a sign that the economy is bad and the casinos timing was way off., now you can get a comped room at any of these new towers if you gambleb of course

I must agree about the room switching at Caesars. If they offer a certain room and you book it, paying or comp, you should get it.

I just returned from my second trip in about a month and both times booked a premium room. First time I got a corner room which is what the premium sounds like it should be. (Caesars room descriptions are vague, probably for this reason). This recent time we were given a regular size room. The front desk clerk actually called to see if I was happy with the room and told her I was not. She said they did not have any corner rooms left and would see if they have something bigger and she called 10-15 mintues later and we were switched to a slightly larger room that suited our needs. Both times we were in Centurion tower. I just started playing at Caesars and these were not comp rooms.

When you book at the Borgata you get the level room you reserve; isn't that the point of reservations???

HET should really change the practice of allowing you to reserve a particular type of room, only to have it change when you arrive for check in.

I can understand why they change the room type upon check in, imagine if they let a platinum player reserve a corner room in Centurion Tower, only to have a much higher player come in & have to give them a Temple Tower room. Do you think the higher level player would be happy about that?

Room type, like everything else in the casino world is determined by the level of play that you bring with you. So, they should NOT, give a false sense of where you will stay, only to be disappointed when you are told that you're not getting what you booked.

Having an unhappy customer, regardless of what level player is not good for business.
