Where did Mr Peanut go?

I noticed the Mr Peanut statue on the bench is gone when we visited the AC boardwalk this year. Is there a story behind it no longer being there?

the Press of AC HAD posted news, but the old news articles are no longer accessable.

Mr Peanut was vandalized at Kennedy Plaza. flickr.com/photos/…

His entire right forearm was taken off by vandals & he had to be repaired by a craftsman in Cherry Hill, NJ.

He now sits undear an eave, at the entrance to the Historical Museum on the Garden Pier. The gates here are locked at night so he is safer from vandalism

The Garden Pier has free parking and 2 museums with free admission

My wife and I stopped in the Garden Pier this past weekend. It was very nice. I forget the name of the artist they had featured, but very nice work. The two that we liked the most were not for sale though.

The ocean water has been very cold maybe he's gone because of shrinkage.

I believe that the vandalizam of the Mr. Peanut statue is quite disturbing. I went on a quest after reading this post & have come to a realization that we really do need Mr. Peanut back at his original location.

After much thought about how to go about convincing the Garden Pier to release Mr. Peanut to be relocated, I have given up hope of having that happen, so the best I can come up with is to get a good replica to replace him with such as on this site. http://4mrpeanut.com/fakes.htm

But, my financial circumstances wont allow me to expend this kind of money on a luxury like this(I save it all for the casino's). So, I have come up with, what I think is a viable solution. I can procure some of these

(add some color of course) & sell them on the Boardwalk as "MINI MR. PEANUTS to the vacationers & some of the locals & when I have enough money to buy a "REAL, FAKE" Mr. Peanut, I will place him at his original location, so the original nut, will be in the original place, thus, making me the BIG NUT!

paddle---you'll enjoy the little museums---they are at the end of the boardwalk(taj mahal way) it's also nice to go outside the museums and walk toward the ocean---they got a little fountain there, some gardens sorrounding it and the nicest view of the ocean. we always spend some time there.
