No More Caesars For Me - Back to Harrahs

I have been staying at Caesars for the past 3 years until a few mths ago for some reason I was not able to book a room online there. So we thought we would try Harrahs instead. Well, we had such an enjoyable stay there plus they let me know at check-in that I was LFB.(first time ever heard that) Ate and drank and charged everything back to room....Harrahs picked up everything since I had no comps for them to take. One time an $18 charge showed up from the bar. I asked about it at check-out and she said "No problem taking that off...you are LFB. Loved the pool and the bartenders at all the bars were prompt with waiting on me. Everyone at check-in very nice.

Stayed there the next three times we were in A.C.

Well, this past weekend I stayed at Caesars again since my sister wanted to stay there. Wow...what a difference from Harrahs! First at check-in they did not tell me I was LFB...I ask now that I know better. Something tells me I was probably LFB all the time at Caesars and they just never disclosed it. Got my room assigned and then went down to the Toga bar. Got a drink and when the bartender went to charge it back to the room nothing came up. So I went back to check-in. They gave me new keys and told me everything would be fine. Went back to Toga and gave him new slip...again it didnt work. So the bartender called check-in. Got me on the phone and they gave me yet another room #. Ok...this time it worked but I still had to go back to check-in for new keys. Now off to room. Open the door...what a mess....trash from previous occupants all over the place. Saw the maid and told her we were leaving our stuff in the closet and we will be back after the room is picked up. Not a good start huh?? But, I was happy I was in A.C. and I didnt complain about any of this just sort of went with the flow and was glad I finally had my room and was off to gamble.

Didnt get to use LFB as much as I would have liked. Just mostly at the Toga Bar since my two daughters were along with me and we were drinking from the time we got there until late into the evening. We ate at Bachanals which is not covered under LFB...love that restaurant. The next day after breakfast I noticed a $97 charge from the Toga. What??? Breakfast was picked up so why the Toga charge there?? So I went down to check-in and told them about it. Well, for the next 45minutes I was trying to get this resolved. They kept telling me they cant do anything about it and they kept making phone calls and then telling me they cant get in touch with anybody. Finally I asked for a manager. They sent me a Diamond Host...Jack Dowling. What a joke this guy was. He kept talking over me and being very dismissive and calling me honey. Said I must have hit my max on Friday night and they stopped picking up charges. I said " If that is true, why was breakfast the next morning picked up?" He couldnt give me an explnation just told me to pay with my credit card and they will look over it the next day. If my play was good enough they would take the charge off my credit card. Hmmm....wasnt about to do that! I then decided this would be a good time to tell him about my room screw up when I first got there. Figured that should be good for something(lol)Guess what he said "Was that documented? Not that I dont believe you or anything honey" - Ok so now at this point I was getting very upset with this man. Our conversation ended with him walking away from me saying he didnt have time for this. Went to the host desk to register a complaint about him. Lady got on the phone..turned her back to me and was talking for about 2 minutes. Turned to me and said her boss wasnt in. Next thing I know Jack Dowling comes up behind me and says " Good News..Just talked to my boss. We are going to take off the charges" - Wow, funny how he showed up so fast huh? I guess the lady must have called him and told him someone was registering a complaint about him and he got his butt down there fast. Walked away and spent my money elsewhere. Wont be back to Caesars. For now on it will be Harrahs for me! I'm done venting now(LOL)

thanks,

crystal

I have to agree with you.. the check-in staff at Caesars was not nice at all last time I was there. Had to wait until 4:30 for a room when I arrived at 11AM. Last weekend, went to Bally's, room ready when I arrived and lady at the desk was nice enough to tell me I was LFB and she actually made me feel like they appreciated me being there! At Caesars, they are doing YOU a favor. I like the hotel, but the staff needs to change their attitude.

Caesars is weird about rfb/lfb charges. We got charged one time for an "overage" at Mia while staying at Caesars when everywhere else has picked up the entire charge.

I wonder if the problem was that you had 3 people (you and your daughters). They have been being strict about only picking up charges for 2 people under rfb/lfb lately (they didn't used to be if it was under a certain dollar amount).

When we stayed at Caesars for the first time (and the only time so far) we had the clerk say something that I just thought was kind of annoying. We were in line at check-in, which had 3 clerks working with customers and we were the next in line. The people in front of us were taken care of and moved out of the line, which left an open spot in front of this male clerk standing at his computer. We stepped up and were patiently waiting for him to complete what he was working on. This took him about 30 seconds and instead of welcoming us to Caesars, he looked at me and said, "you should have stayed in the line until I called you to the counter". Well, maybe that is true but I wasn't being pushy or giving him dirty looks for not taking care of us. We were just politely standing there waiting for him to finish whatever we were doing. I just felt like it was rude and uncalled for. I work with the public everyday and can't imagine saying that to someone.

Yes, I also am in customer service also and wouldnt dream of treating people like this. I always try to rectify a situation in the customers favor no matter what! And always always apologize. Never heard that an apology even once at Caesars.

It all boils down to Caesers being the smallest het property in a/c.eight hundred and something rooms.thats what a host told me anyway.

That is no excuse for not treating customers the right way.. sad part is it probably wont matter. They will always be crowded no matter how they treat people. As for me, I think Bally's and Showboat will get most of my business from now on. I do like Harrahs but sometimes feel they could be a bit nicer as well.

CAESARS is the smallest indeed, TA says 1184 rooms.

I will say that I prefer the VIP Check-in to the regular.

I don't think we've ever run into an employee at Harrahs that wasn't nice and as helpful as they could be.

It should not matter that Caesars is the smallest; it is supposed to be the marque property in HET portfolio and should treat guests as such. If they are not going to bother then just name all the hotels Harrahs; like Marriot or Hilton.

I don't think Caesar's cares if they tick you off to the point you decide to go elsewhere. Despite the high table limits, the casino is always packed, and they will always find someone else to fill your room. That is the one HET property that is consistently sold out or offers the least availability in terms of comps. Maybe that's the reason for their attitude, though I don't agree with it. It's all supply and demand.
