new orleans junket 1/9/2009 to 1/12/2009 HET

Anyone going? I've been to New Orleans, but my first New Orleans junket from Harrah's. Haven't seen their Hotel, but I hear its beautiful. Can't beat the price: Cost Nothing. Any comments or suggestions? P.S. When you go on these junkets do you gamble as heavily as you do at your home casino?

HET in New Orleans has a wide range of restaurants where you can use your TR points for dining. Since you've been there, you already know it's a city loaded with fantastic restaurants and diversity. Be sure to check out their partners on the Harrah's web page, and then on TA for the reviews, etc.

The Harrah's Hotel in New Orleans is excellent, as is the service. No need to be concerned about a Claridge type room either. The casino is Mardi Gras theme and very lively.

To answer your question, kind of in reverse, New Orleans is my dominant casino. I wager about the same in Atlantic City as I do there.

Have a great time.

Its thru Harrahs passport travel center and its leaving from Philadelphia. I also got another junket to new orleans leaving in February or March at different days from different airports. : JFK, Newark, and Philadelphia. Although I book thru Harrahs passport, it does say you can call your Independent casino Marketing representative, or Harrahs branch office representative.

NOLA is great! Harrahs hotel is very nice, we had a great time when we went last year. Try Besh Steakhouse, you wont be disapointed. But, you will be disapointed in the DL, it is nothing like AC's DL's.

Enjoy and don't forget the TR when you get back!

I do hear alot about BESH and I plan on trying it. I just got a comp of 150.00 for food and 200.00 slot play for the dates my hubby and I are going.....How very sweet !! I know none of the Diamond Lounges are anything compared to AC, but, at times, even a glass(es) of vino and some cheese and crackers hits the spot.

We loved Harrahs NOLA. The hotel is beautiful. The only thing that I did not really care for was that the casino is across the street from the hotel, but they do have an underground passway.

Besh Steakhouse was excellent and is worth it. Their diamond club has, I don't think more then 4 tables. They served only cheese, crackers and fruit when we were there and was only opened at night. It was good for a quick snack, though we had a hard time finding a seat.

Have fun, win some money, and have a great time.

The Diamond Lounge is called the Palm Room. They open at noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and stay open to 1AM or thereabouts. During the week, it opens at 4PM. They do put out food at 7 PM each night besides the basic fruit, crackers and cheese. It is mostly finger foods, i.e., stuffed mushrooms, etc. We go to New Orleans four times a year and we enjoy the Palm Room. We don't go there expecting to eat dinner . . . just get a snack and some drinks. Enjoy!!!!!

as stated before, very nice notel - comfy beds, clean rooms - great service --

heads-up - no cafe on site for breakfast or lunch - and the hotel next door (it sets up a buffet for breakfast) stops serving bkfst @ 10:00 am - but you can order room service anytime - i did room service and the food was excellent and quick.

a couple of suggestions for dinner - emerils in the central business district - they are about a 5 block walk from the hotel and in the quarter K Pauls (Paul Prudhomme (sp?) - which is also walkable - and then you can get a look at the quarter - both worth the trip. you can use your reward credits - obtain a voucher at the reward center in the casino and hand it in with the bill - there are a number of restaurants that accept that type of payment - i was there in May and needed reservations - not sure how busy NOLA is in January.

nice casino - wide assortment of machines in every denomination - plenty of tables. its just across the street from the hotel - i didn't use the tunnel, its across the street from the hotel.

enjoy.

When we went there, they had a breakfast buffet set up in the buffet in the casino, I'm not sure if it was for just the weekend or all week. Are they not doing this anymore?
