Expedia.com QUICK TO CORRECT Royal Lodge Scam ! Thank You !

The recent scam I encoutered at the Royal Lodge / Luxury Inn in Absecon / Atlantic City was quickly handled by expedia.com once I got the attention of the right people ( Thank you Katie & Ami .)

The scam is that the Royal Lodge ( Rtr. 30 ) overbooks it's hotel using low rates on websites such as expedia while accepting higher paying customers at the door . The overflow customers are then sent to a flea bag hotel which they also own, The Luxury Inn , without compensation . Yes there were Dozens of fleas ! They also sell cans of meatballs and spagetti to the chapter 8 / food stamp recipients in the lobby ! ( This could also be a scam if they sell the food for very high prices and give a cash "rebate" to the customers . Gee , I w o n d e r what they spend the rebate cash on ! ?

The moral : Stay away from the Royal Lodge and especially the Luxury Inn ! And it is good to always try to get user reviews of places , such as available on Trip Advisor !

They adaquately compensated us . I am pleased . BUT wouldn't go through that again for anything . We know of a few "name "outside of town hotels we will stick with when we are not staying at a casino . In fact we are pretty much sticking with Harrah's and Showboat .

Frank, the other post 'June 4th special' made me think he was back & I started sending msgs to other posters saying that Allure was back. Then I posted his name in 'The Worst Advice'.... So when I saw this I started think OH NO! He actually is back & I just poked fun at him this week - all this time I never posted anything about him & this week I post something and he's back!

it sure gave me a laff! great fun!

Just a little FYI. This can happen anywhere. I work for a hotel. If we overbook all we have to do is get the guest a room elsewhere that we have to pay for. Now we dont do it but I can certainly see some less honest places doing this.
