First Casino to Close prop

For entertainment purposes only (Not Open for Betting)

odds that the first casino to close will come from the following group:

Resorts/Hilton ......................................... 4/5

A Trump Property..................................... 7/5

No casino will close by 12/31/12........... 2/1

The field ( BG/Trop/ 4 HET clubs)........... 8/1

Which would you bet on, given the current odds, or post your own odds for fun.

I think the longshot odds should be a lot greater than 8/1. Maybe not for Trop but certainly for BG and HET properties.

I also think Hilton is more likely to close than Resorts. If they have to close one, it will be Hilton. Resorts has a better location and has the history piece of being the first casino in AC.

Steve- These are not individual entries. Resorts/Hilton is a single betting interest..... if either one is the first to close you get 4/5.

Same with the field ... you get all 6 properties (BG Trop + 4 HET)

Same with the trump entry if any of the 3 trump properties closes first you win

Make things interesting and add another option - that a new casino will open before an existing casino closes. I'll give it 6/5 (just like some blackjack tables pay).

Given the aggressive renovations being done at the Hilton, it does not look like they're planning to close down any time soon. Someone is definitely investing in it. I believe that the Hilton and Resorts have severed their relationship; I know that I can no longer use my Destination Club card at the Resorts in AC, which is a shame because they had two nice VIP lounges.

Either that or they are sprucing it up to try and attract a buyer.

Trop just got bought by Ichan, it is not going to close in 2 years.

The 4 HET casinos will not close by then either. If HET needs to raise cash, they can sell one or divest themselves of interests elsewhere. HET is large enough that no matter what trouble they get into it would take longer than 12/31/12 to force them to actually shutter a casino.

Borgata is not going to close and if the parent companies ran into trouble due to other investments I think they would have no problems finding a buyer.

The weak links are Trump Marina and Resorts. Since the Trump casinos recently got a new lease on life, I think they will all survive in some form or another until 12/31/12.

My vote is Resorts.

Listen, the world is scheduled to end on 12/21/12 (according to the Mayan calendar) so don't worry about 12/31/12.

Just make sure you're in one whichever of the AC casinos is still standing on 12/21/12 so when the giant tidal wave comes in & washes you away you'll be having some fun in your last moments.

>>listen, the world is scheduled to end on 12/21/12...<<

this may explain why showboat just sent me a 45X multiplier for 12/22/12.

they finally get their marketing and promo act together and then... this.

damn.

I'm gonna take none will close before 12/31/12

Although who ever buys Trump Marina may close it & re-open it so I'm not sure if that counts as a closing.

The Deal to sell Trump Marina to the group that was going to buy it before and rename it "Margaritaville" should be in negotiations again soon if they aren't already.

Resorts is shaky but I feel they have one of the better Slot Floors in AC. The old Ocean Tower should just be closed, it's that Old and Worn, I'd never stay there again unless it was for Free and I didn't have any Freebies from anyone else. Otherwise I'd hate to see it go.

I haven't been in the Hilton for at least 4 years, not worth the walk down from the Trop. Honestly I don't know how Hilton is still in the Casino Biz. I stopped in the Vegas Hilton since they pulled the plug on Star Trek and the place just looked Sad. It was almost deserted.

Every other place should be OK.

DeSanctis should be able to find the cash in China to finish off Revel too sometime this year.

AC just has to be more Aggressive to get people in that they've lost to PA but I don't think they'll ever get back all of the "Bus People" that they lost. I still drive up to AC 'cause I'm not interested in those packed PA Slots Barns. I come to AC to Stay & Play.
