Tropicana rooms

Got an email offer for deal at Trop. Is there one tower or room type I should ask or hope for? Many reviews say rooms are not good or clean. Can I expect those negatives to be the regular occasion or the exception? In other words what are the experts view of staying at Tropicana?

Tropicana is fine in my experience. My only caution would be to avoid West Tower at all cost due to LONG waits for the elevator exceeding 30 minutes during busy times (and no I am not exaggerating at all). Their West Tower had one of the Elevators fail (if you search for it online you could probably still find the news article) and I have no evidence they have ever fixed it.

We have stayed at Tropicana as our main hotel for over 15 years. Read periodically horror stories. We have never experienced anything negative at The Trop in room quality, cleanliness, attitude of personnel or anything else. We continue to go there on a regular basis.

you should be ok in either the north or south tower and they both let out right on the casino floor. avoid the west tower because of the elevator situation and the long walk. the havana tower is also a long walk to the casino because it is located in the quarter.

I've been staying at the Trop for the last 20 years and have never really had a bad experience. Like the last couple of posters have said, try to avoid the West tower, which is the worst and try for the South Tower, which is the best. My wife and I usually stay at the Trop once a month and have never had anything but a great time.

I had reserved a comp room in May and was given a room in the North Tower. When I opened the door to the room I literally fell over the bed. There were two double beds in the room but the room was so small that the bed by the door was almost blocking the entrance. It got worse, as I entered the room it was very dark for the middle of the day. The window was facing the trash compacter and It was soot covered and very small.

You could clearly hear the noise from the compacter throughout the room.

The bathroom was tiny and had paint peeling from the ceiling. I had seen

enough I jumped on the phone and called the front desk and asked/demanded another room. I would not have given that room to my worse enemy. I have stayed at the Trop many times, comped and payed and was never given or even knew they had a room like that. It was located on the eight floor of the North Tower towards the back. I don't remember the room number. I was then given a room in the South Tower . Although the memory of that room will forever haunt me. LOL
