The little black cloud seemed to be following me around, along with his buddies doom and paranoia. I was walking away from the crap table with just $300 of my 4K starting money. This is supposed to be a five day stay and I'm just on day one. I was going to the cashier to cash in my last chips. The credit office was right there so I stopped in to see if my marker account was still in good standing. It was. I got in the cashiers line and was grumbling to myself about just one window open on a busy Sunday. There was another open but it was for Diamond only. When I got to the window I was greeted by a very ebullient Oriental man. I was not in the mood for ebullience. I'm sure some of you know the man I'm talking about. All smiles, laughing, very friendly and has a slight pigeon accent. He asked how I was doing and I told him I got run over by a truck at valet, insulted by a coo-coo clock woman and everything down hill from there. All the time he never stopped smiling and laughing. As I walked away he said, "You smile, You going to win big money." I may not have actually smiled but I couldn't help but be a little tickled at his spirit.
Aimlessly I wandered back to the Diamond Cove. The coo-coo was gone and I actually had my choice of VP machines. I chose one of the machines the woman had been at. I ran my first $100 up to $165 and felt a little better just being ahead for awhile and I thought about the smiling Oriental Man....... A.Q. Clubs on the end to draw to. I know some of you may never have gotten a Royal but the first sign is the machine makes a very subtle click, the gratitude comes flooding back to me. No more black cloud, whoosh there goes paranoia down the drain.the smile is back. They pay me 4K and I still have $65 in credits. I sit right there and play a couple more hours until satiety(word?) sets in and I cash out $300. UP $300 for the day!!!. Now I'm content. Iwill sleep well. Its been a long first day. Maybe now I will smile more, be more tolerant of coo-coo women and try and not talk with a slight pigeon accent.
