Johnny Rockets at Showboat

I'm going on a bus trip for the day on Thursday to Showboat. Is Johnny Rockets now open or is there anything better to have a nice lunch other than a casino restaurant?

johnny rockets at showboat is indeed open. it's a "limited service" casual dining restaurant... there is no traditional waiter/waitress... just someone who brings you your food.

for more about this restaurant, you can read this previous thread:

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g29750-i78-k367654…

there are many places to eat nearby (casino restaurants and non), but if you're just on a one-day bus trip, you can't beat the convenience of eating right at showboat (or at the taj mahal next door).as for "better" restaurants, tell us what you're looking for in terms of ambience, cuisine and price range, and we'll probably be able to make suggestions.

Try the House of Blues restaurant at Showboat. Excellent food.

The House of Blues isn't an option if you are going on a Thursday. I believe the only days they are open anymore are Sat and Sun.

The Canal Street Bakery has some pretty good sandwices, I like the roast beef on oregano bread. Just don't order the pizza it is a frozen Freshetta that is put into a brick oven.

Also The Rim noodle bar @ the Taj is very good too, I'm a big fan of noodle bars though.

I ate there a couple of weeks ago. There was a line to get in. The food was good, but the burgers were small!

Ate there today. burger, shake and fries, food was very good, had a ball playing tunes on the nickel jukebox, and the dancing waiters / waitresses were entertaining, a fun place to eat with nice views of the ocean. HOB was closed, as mentioned above believe it is only open weekends now.

geez, i dunno. i've always been disappointed in the sandwiches there. i'm pretty sure the canal street bakery's sandwiches are made with processed (chopped and formed) meat... they remind me of something you might find at a school cafeteria. they're certainly not traditional deli sandwiches!

the pizza, on the other hand, may be frozen... but i think it's one of the safer and tastier choices on their menu.

(in any case, it all tastes good at 2 AM, when canal street is among the few options open at the boat.)

Does anyone know if The Mansion in Showboat is still offering the $6 cheeseburger special? I know had it THIS YEAR, but that could have been 9 months ago
