1. Re: Trip Report February 17th - 19th

We left on the afternoon ferry and by 3 we were checking into Trump Marina. Decided to pick the marina side this trip as last time we stayed at Taj. Check in was a breeze and room comp was a suite in the Crystal Tower. I like that area as it is so quiet at night and the extra large room and living room area. The casino floor was not too busy but the tables were full with players. They were short on dealers so I couldn’t get a seat at any BJ, 3 CP or Spanish 21 tables.

We played slots for awhile and I hit on a Sex and the City Bonus playing 50 cents and 1 box. The bonus spin was the shoe boxes and green high heels hit on all but 2 lines for a pay out of $162.00. After several hours of checking out the slots we decided to head to dinner at the Harborview. The meal was very good with a nice view over the water and looking over the city and boardwalk. Back on the casino floor DH played craps and I played my bonus dollars on Lord Of The Rings for several hours. Drink service was quick and the casino got abit busier but tables still didn’t open up. Called it an early night and enjoyed the suite and view.

Next morning we decided to head over to Taj and what a difference, all the tables were busy and most open. Hit a $5 Spanish 21 table and played with the same 4 players for the next 5 hours. We had a great time and the matches were coming up fast so my chips were piling up. Cashed out $400 up and headed to the Chairman Lounge for a late lunch. The meal was better than my last trip, good salad, steamed veggies and a lobster ravoli. Sat at the bar for awhile watching the TV and having a drink.

Checked out the boardwalk and the weather was fantastic. After a short walk we played the new Wheel of Fortune slot on the wall near the cashier cage. My $20 bonus dollars quickly turned into $80. The bonus round came around for a 5 players quickly and didn’t see any big wins but enough to keep people playing. I checked out the floor for any other new slots and did see many I had played in the past were gone.

Headed back to the Marina by 4 and played Quick Hits. This is my love-hate slot but today it did like me and I cashed out $200 ahead after several bonuses. The marina was getting busy and more tables were open tonight. I sat down to a $5 3 CP table and hit a few flushes and straights. One player beside me hit trips with a nice $15 bet so she was happy. I walked away $80 up and met DH at the craps table were he was on a run. So we really enjoyed the night. After a small snack we walked around playing slots and BJ. Most tables were still $5 for a Friday night and the players kept coming and going as the shoe changed. I broke even and left after 3 very drunk women joined the table and really made plenty of bad moves and yelled loudly each time they did win.

Saturday we enjoyed room service for breakfast then headed to the ferry for a bumpy ride home. Left AC with some of the casino’s cash so that makes a great trip.

Nice report and congrats on taking home some cash. Did you happen to get any feedback from the employees at The Marina reguarding the sale to the GN?

As for feedback a few of the employees have already left the Marina for other jobs. One of my favorite was a valet who always had a great smile and called us by name as soon as we pulled up.

Dealers chatted about the Golden Nugget at the tables, some said I will believe it when it actually happens, others were happy for a change and hoped it brought in more players during the winter months. Most thought their job was safe with the new company.

As for no winners on the slot flot. We heard the bells ringing several times at night on the poker machines and a 50 cents slot. I walked by a $1 machine and a man was waiting for his hand payout....so they do happen at the Marina.

Thanks for the TR,Blackjack.Congrats on coming home with some $$!

I'm counting the days til my next trip to the Taj on 3/11.

Havn't been since early Dec and I'm in serious withdrawal! I too, have a love-hate relationship with Quick Hits-it's the only "fun" slot I play regularly.

Hope to meet you one day,

Johnnylite

Thanks for the report Blackjack! Quick question, did the "dealer shortage" situation get any better on Friday night? We've got a reservation for this Friday night and would hate to have to go elsewhere to play.

IIDXias,

On Friday night there were 3 times the tables open the Thursday night and most were full with players after dinner. $5 was the minimum for craps, BJ, 3 CP and others.

Have a good trip.

Sounds great BJ, thanks a bunch! You've alleviated our fears of a ton of players fighting over 1 or 2 open tables, haha. Personally I don't mind waiting as long as there's a bunch of tables open, but when it's just 1 or 2 it gets unbearable!
