Best hotel for a family with teens ?

We (the grownups) want to go to the casino. The teens (18,17,16) want to shop and cruise the boardwalk. Any hotel suggestions ?

Are there hotels with teen activities ?

I don't want them to have to go too far to shop and whatever. A hotel with a mall attached (or fairly close) would be perfect.

Thanks in advance

Caesars or Ballys. They are connected to each other. Caesars is connected to the pier shops and The Walk (outlet shopping) is only 2 - 3 blocks away.

I would definitely review maps of the area and of the shops with them before turning them loose. The Walk spans several blocks and it's easy to get lost there.

I would also suggest Caesars or Ballys. Both are located next to The Walk, a large outdoor type shopping area with lots of great stores: http://www.acoutlets.com/ and there is a walkway located directly across from Caesars to the Pier Mall http://www.thepiershopsatcaesars.com/ I would suggest Ballys over Caesars if only because they have a very nice indoor pool.

When are you planning this trip? If it's the weekend and after April 16th, the Steel Pier amusement park will be open http://www.steelpier.com/

And although it's a bit of a hike, the Trop is pretty nice as well. It has the quarter which has plenty of shops and restaurants and a Imax movie theater.

Thanks,

We are planning to go April 16-19th. The kids love amusement parks, so we'll have to add that to the trip.

Is there anything special that you recommend we do or see while we're there ?

And how are the crowds in April ?

Thanks again

April still isn't prime season, the crowds should not be bad.

Sorry, I have zero ideas on activities that the teens might like. When I was that age I would have wanted to drink and gamble too. LOL

Rship is out of town this weekend, but I know when he sees this he will have lots of good suggestions for you.

lol, They did ask why they couldn't gamble.

I think there's enough to see and do to keep them busy. They love to shop.

Great, I love the Steel Pier and there are a good amount of rides they will like. The Steel Pier is located across from the Taj Mahal which is about a 10 minutes walk from Ballys/Caesars.

Some other things to do are Ripleys http://www.ripleysatlanticcity.com/ or mini golf http://www.acminigolf.com/ (I'm sure if it's open yet)

The crowds in April aren't bad and usually don't get that way until the Summer months.

the pier shops, the "mall" attached to caesars isn't really a mall in the traditional sense... the shops are mostly very high end (think burberry, gucci, and louis vuitton) and it's not conducive to walking around and doing the things teens normally do in a "regular" mall... there's no "spencer gifts," no movie theater, no traditional food court and no crowds of other teens milling about and socializing.

the outlet shops at "the walk" probably will have more stores that interest them.

My teenage niece & nephew [oops, I GOTTA stop saying that, niece turned 21 today] like a few stores in The Pier http://www.thepiershopsatcaesars.com/ like Its Sugar http://www.itsugar.com/ Starbucks, the hourly fountain show & the outdoor decks at the end, but as suggested by UKstages, they certainly prefer The Walk http://www.acoutlets.com/ I want to stress that you mention to the kids not to cross the street against a signal. Besides it being unsafe as the huge percentage of traffic is tourists unfamiliar with area roads, the police do give jaywalking tickets.

Central Pier has a nice size arcade with good prize redemption & the largest go~Kart track in South Jersey http://www.myspace.com/centralpier go~Kart coupon atlanticcitynj.com/visit/… Sorry Jmommy, Ripley's is expensive and not worth it. If Haunted Tales is open, it's much better & cheaper http://www.myspace.com/hauntedtales coupon [actually lotsa coupons] atlanticcity.net/atlantic-city-tours-attract… There is another arcade inside Taj under the escalators by Casbah. & another two arcades down by Trop atlanticcitynj.com/visit/… but Central Pier is the largest

I suggest driving everyone down to Lucy the Elephant as it's unique http://www.lucytheelephant.org/ & then maybe lunch at Ventura's Greenhouse www.venturasgreenhouse.com/index.php… mmmm, oysters florentine

Sorry rship, but I gotta veto the Greenhouse. If you're going all the way to Margate, you have to stop at Robert's on Atlantic Avenue. BEST. WINGS. EVER!! I don't know what it is about them, but if you like wings even a little, you need to try them. My mouth is actually watering as I write this. Darn, now I have to go and get some soon!

Have fun, LuvBreezes
