Casino tour?

As we drove to AC yesterday, I was looking at the map of all the Harrah's ( or Caesar's or whatever) properties in the US and said to my sister that we should take a casino tour after I retire. Has anyone here ever done such a thing? We probably would not include the western properties but I think we could drive Indiana, Louisville, Saint Louis, New Orleans, Biloxi and Seneca in about two weeks.

Any feelings about this?

Yes, I know the price of gas.:):)

I don't know what you have for a car. Will it be comfortable for a long drive like that? Would you consider renting a more comfortable car if neccessary? I'm not a fan of driving. Maybe BillH would be a better poster to respond. He drove to/from Las Vegas

Do you intend to go to Churchill Downs in Louisville?

We sorta did that, well, at least Cherokee Biloxi, Tunica and New Orleans. 2 weeks is too short, unless you don't plan to stop anywhere :)

You can comfortably do the Biloxi-New Orleans-Tunica-Cherokee tour in 2 weeks. Stay one night at Cherokee (figure 8 hrs to get there), then drive to Tunica (visit Memphis on the way), stay one night then drive to New Orleans (stay 3 nights- this city is awesome) then on to Biloxi. The beaches are wonderful-stay 2 or 3 nights here. Count on a 20 hour ride home, so you'll be overnighting somewhere on the road.

To add in Kansas City and St. Louis I would figure on a 3 week trip. Enjoy!

Sounds fun to me. We love to drive - we do NJ to Orlando every year. My retirement dream is to buy an RV and travel around the country. A casino tour would be great.

Oh, this sounds great! Will you be our tour guide? :)

Thanks for all the input, Folks! The southern loop sounds really good and my sister's daughter lives in Clemson. Wonder how many of those places will comp us.

We'd be missing Churchill Downs, which I'd set my heart on. . . and St. Louis but another time. . .

BTW, my sister's car is very comfortable, and we like road trips! Thanks again. 35 more days of work! :)

Does that mean you have 35 more days until your retirement? If so, congratulations and good luck with the southern loop.

I agree with ACmama, you will need more time to do that trip. I drove to New Orleans too and although that can be made in 2 days of fairly agressive driving, you wont leave any time to enjoy yourself. So, whats the point of going if you're not going to enjoy it

I think that it can be a fun trip if you allow enough time to travel at a comfortable pace and allow time to stay at each property to make it worth the trip.
