Revel will be quite a place

As I mentioned in my previous post, I got an email survey from Caesars.

One section had information about Revel. The questions were about how likely I was to visit there once it's open, and why.

The description of Revel was very detailed -- more info than I've seen anywhere else. Thought it might be of interest. It's going to be quite a place! I can't wait to see the two-acre rooftop pine grove!

It's really long, so I'm going to post as a reply.

From the Caesars email survey:

Revel is a $2.5 Billion dollar casino resort development in Atlantic City, set to open in 2012.

Referred to as a "lifestyle resort", Revel is incorporating a casino gaming environment into a much broader entertainment context as part of Atlantic City's rebranding as a destination resort location. Revel continues the recent trend in Atlantic City towards building luxurious Las Vegas-style gambling, lush accommodations, top restaurants and top-notch entertainment.

Situated on a 20-acre site on Atlantic City's beach boardwalk, some of the features of Revel include:

* 47-story, 1,090 room hotel tower sheathed in glass, the tallest in Atlantic City, whose undulating surface mirrors the ocean

* Rooftop pine grove with 30,000 live plants and trees spread over 2 acres

* Lavish spa with waterfall and indoor-outdoor pool

* Six-floor landscaped outdoor deck with cabanas and fire pits

* Sweeping ocean views from the hotel lobby and "porte cochere" entrance with an underground valet entrance

* One of the largest casino floors in Atlantic City

* 12 restaurants and multiple retail outlets

* 2 nightclubs, one on the casino level and another three-story, glass-enclosed nightclub overlooking the lobby. A two-level circular bar will dominate the middle of the casino

* Ballroom, theater and meeting spaces

* "Revel Beach" a man-made beach and party area.

Interesting that these details (which I think were mentioned in a recent Press of AC article) were in a Caesars survey. Makes you wonder if Harrah's has designs on acquiring the place at some point.

It'll be interesting to see how Revel compares to Borgata, which is by far and away the nicest place in AC. Revel's Boardwalk location is a big plus, as its a close walk to the other North casinos (Showboat, Taj, and Resorts) if you want a change of pace. Also, the outdoor features (pine grove and pool area) sound very nice.....Borgata's pool area, including the Water club, I think is just so-so.

Can't wait until the middle of next year to check it out!

Yes, it seems that CET might want a piece of the action. I would not blame them.

I'm sure Harrah's is concerned because Caesars wil no longer be the marque property on the strip I'm wondering if Revel's Players Club will have a program where they will match your status.

I'm curious about the 'man-made' beach. Isn't this property already on a beach that mother nature made? Maybe they're augmenting it to accomodate all those people taking up over 1,000 rooms on a weekend. If I recall, the natural beach is rather narrow down that end. I wonder if it will be on the west side of the boardwalk? This place looks really awesome, I can't wait to check it out next year!

I also found it curious that CET would list those things. Maybe they are seeing what people might want in a resort so they can start working on a similar concept to compete.

Well for me, I can safely say all CET is doing is sparking my interest and desire to spend all my money at Revel as soon as it opens.
