I'm Platinum currently but will be back to Gold next year so the change doesn't really affect me. So I don't think it will affect our CET play either way.

I think it will upset quite a few table players. It's really hard to reach diamond playing blackjack. The low diamond table players will have a hard time reaching he 1000 credits to gain admission to the dl every trip. In all fairness to CET, I think they've become more generous in discretionary food comps to buffets for table players. This evens things out a little more.

On May 5, 2011 I posted a question under the title of “ Comp Cutting Slowly Invading AC ”, asking the forum if they noticed comp cuts. The majority of responses did not see any changes. Well hold on, the party's over & here they come.

Disney Steve..to respond to your above post, if you're not taking or getting any comps now, it of course won't affect you..but..if you are, comp rooms will dry up, as will food comps, match play, mailers, give aways.

It's baffling CET is messin' with the Diamond players over a pittance of free food and $10. Some bean counter actually presented that cost saver idea to decision makers who thought it made a difference, then spun it as a favor to other Diamond players. Can't wait to see what's next.

Play less, care less, win more.

I'm still debating what I am going to do. I ALWAYS go to AC with my sister. ALWAYS. At the end of the year Sis and I COMBINED had almost 25000 points so it has occurred to me to just play her card although I think there is something dishonest about that . . .

The thing is we are just two diamond players who typically make 12-15 trips to AC each year. Yes, we eat in the clubs but we have one drink each. We have taken guests in probably half a dozen times a year. Not abusers.

HOWEVER, access to the clubs-- particularly Bally's -- is my primary motivating factor for reaching diamond and I am REALLY ANNOYED and DISAPPOINTED that the reduction of comps was handled with such a limited roll-out time. I love to just go in and enjoy a drink and look at the sea. Oh, well.

We have two trips planned in the next month -- with friends so there is no backing out. Both of us have received mailers with two "Free passes" to a club. (Cannot say here what I'd like to do with those.) After that I just don't know, but I am seriously tempted to try the Trump group.

Good points. If they start taking away other comps, that may make CET less and less attractive. Personally, I think comp offers have actually increased in recent months. When we first joined and started going, I was getting offers constantly for give aways, food, etc. Then, over the past year or so, those offers really dried up but in the past 6 months, they have picked up again. I think I have had at least one offer for every single weekend which wasn't the case for a while.

That said, I have seen some changes creeping in. For example, VP and video roulette machines no longer accept Reel Reward coupons. I used to head to those to use my coupons but I guess so did many other people. Now you have to use them on a slot machine (though that worked out well yesterday when I actually won).

Like many people, I suspect, I was initially enamored by the comp offers but over time found I was paying more attention to earning comps than I was to whether or not I won or lost. More recently, I've gotten more focused on my actual play and let the comps just be a background perk - if I get them, I get them, but I'd rather walk away a winner. I'm spending more time at the tables and less at the machines and 3 of my last 4 trips were winners. I earned very few reward credits but I made money. I'll take that over comps.

I play almost exclusively at the Trop so maybe I'm not the right one to comment; however I have always found Harrahs/Caesars fair and generous with their comps. We have been invited on some junkets and have had no trouble after I have been at BJ tables 5 or 6 hours getting a comp buffet or similar when I am inclined for such. We try never to abuse the freebies and would not think of asking with less play. The only reason we don't play more @ Caesars casinos is their BJ is not as good as what others offer. This is not just in AC but in Vegas,Reno, Tahoe ,Tunica and Biloxi. Might rethink all of this if they started stand on soft 17. I have always felt admission to premium lounges will take care of itself.

I've been pondering the same question which started this thread and at the very end I came up with a conclusion of, why am I really driving myself crazy over a 10$ admission to a Diamond Lounge?

I am a low Diamond, I generally only travel to AC 5 - 6 times a year, generally play slots (From $1.00 denomination and up) and also generally stay at the Showboat usually during the week, usually get upgraded to a Mini Suite. I'm assuming I have a decent ADT while I am there.

I also live 4 to 5 hours away, but I usually get generous slot offers, free buffets to either Harrah's and Showboat and Reward Credits Multipliers in which I abuse while I am there.

As we all know, CET properties already have the lowest Payout percentages in AC, (except for Harrah's in which has the best Penny Slot Odds of all) And Showboat which 'had' the best $1.00 slot payouts but it seems like they have been on the decline since March dropping 3% since then. (Even though it's about having fun but why not play the slots in which has the better odds?) As a slot player, just the CET payout percentages should be enough reason to abandon ship (As Caesars being horrendous) not just the 10 Comp Dollar charge to the Diamond Lounge.

Point is, besides the 10 charge to the Diamond Lounge, I have fun and 'sometimes' actually win at Showboat and Harrahs. Besides the fact I can get free rooms in New Orleans and Vegas when need be at other CET properties. I was trying to figure out how to utilize my comp dollars and I guess I'll just use them when I stop into the Diamond Lounge in which I only stop in once anyway during my trips to AC.

Bottom Line, I will keep on doing what I am doing and enjoy life while I am there, whether or not if I am losing or winning or even if I have to pay 10 to get into the Diamond Lounge.

Which is what CET is anticipating and banking that most of their players will do and "ce le vie" to the rest....

I can count the number of times I've been to the lounges on 2 hands and that's over 8 years. Standing in a chow line to save a few bucks isn't my idea of a good time. If I'm going to AC, I want a real meal served to me. If this is truly a deal breaker for some folks than I am astounded.
