Short term master plan.

An article in today's press online listed some short term goals for the city. They want to establish an arts section, bring trolleys back to Atlantic Ave, untangle the maze of roads to the marina, build up Gardners Basin, more pavilions on the boardwalk with attractions, relight the boardwalk hall roof, have laser shows over the city and create a 180 foot wind sculpture near the Revel.

I would have liked to see repaving of Atlantic and Pacific Aves as well as the side streets near casinos.

It would be great if the approach roads to the marina properties were reconfigured. I can't tell you how many times I've had to swerve to avoid another car trying to make a last-minute lane change to exit. I don't know who designed this masterpiece but I curse them everytime.

And yes, road repaving should be #1 on the list. We can dream.

Pave the roads and blow up the dunes and AC would be transformed over night.

They need to have beach parties. They need to use the boardwalk better like have a big bbq on the boardwalk. They need nicer stores on the boardwalk,. Make it a party town. Give people other things to do besides gamble. The casinos should hire more cocktail waitreses and let people drink what they want. Too many dumb rules in AC< Make it a fun place and people will come back and have the casinos pay the stupid parking fee.

Yes many of the streets are in various stages of disrepair. However, freshly repaved roads have a way of making people drive a little faster. I wouldn't want to see more car/pedestrian accidents. There was talk at one time of making Pacific Ave one-way. I don't know if this idea is still in the works or not.The trolley on Atlantic Ave sounds nice but the Jitney drivers would take a hit. An arts district would be nice. Maybe it could draw some people who otherwise wouldn't visit A.C. Maybe a large arts type convention or two could get the city in the art world news. As for the boardwalk itself better lighting and the recent commitment to increase police patrols will go a long way towards making visitors feel safe. And public safety is one of the main reasons

A.C. is in the position it is today. If you want people to come and spend their hard earned dollars they have to feel safe. There are just too many other places to go for vacation/ganbling.
