TR - Caesars 1/6 to 1/9

Made our first venture down in the new year. Left bright & early at 6 am, made it 10 minutes down the road and the wife says turn around because she left the curling iron plugged in. Not a good start, before we make it to the PA turnpike, wife says we gotta find a restroom asap, I just roll my eyes and say "Are You Kidding Me".

After another quick detour, we're rolling across PA and arrive at Caesars about 1:30. No line at check in, like always room was in the Centurion Tower, 43rd floor.

Rather than bore you with all the play by play details, here are some random odds & ends. The weather was fantastic and folks sure did take advantage of it. The boardwalk was alive & well. Many people were walking the beach, riding bikes, jogging etc etc. Seemed more like April than January. Gotta give some love to the buffet at Caesars. It's takin' a beating on this site and it's deserved it however we gave it a shot. It was without a doubt, the best we've every experienced there. Everything was hot & fresh. Lots of good choices including crab legs, shrimp, clams, steak & pork loin to name a few.

Took in the AFC Wild Card game at the DL. Food there was also very good. Service was A+ and the drinks were too. Finally tried the sunday brunch at Mia. One word sums it up, "AWESOME".

Casino was fairy busy on friday, packed to the max saturday and kinda slow on sunday. We had no trouble getting on our favorite machines. No major wins but no major losses either. Managed to take $2,500 of our bankroll back home and we racked up 5,780 points, a pretty decent start to the new year.

Overall, a very fun trip. Did not hit any traffic in Philly, coming or going, that's a bonus! My only complaint, AC really needs to work on their entertainment options. We like a break from the machines to take in a show but there's just nothing there to see. Next trip set for February, weather permitting that is. Thanx for taking the time to read.

Some may find this interesting as well. When we were leaving Monday morning they were removing numerous slot machines from Caesars and there were several bare spots on the casino floor. Not sure if they're bringing new games in or just shuffling things around.

sounds like you had a good trip... first time I heard anything good about Caesars buffet in a long time.. I only remember it as small. All casinos seem to move slot machines around from time to time...guess it makes people play different machines.

I am glad you had a good time! As for other things besides gambling look in the A.C. weekly. They feature most of the local entertainment options.

Enjoyed your TR, RanMan, and I am sympathetic for the Turnpike run. As a diversion, I suggest keeping track of the time it takes to get from AC to Valley Forge ( 86 miles) and from WW bridge to Valley Forge. (25 miles) Always wonderful when you can cruise right through.

We have had good luck at Caesar's buffet, too but have never scored crab legs. Good for you!

Sounds like a fun trip overall. Thanks for posting!
