Atlantic Club Casino Hotel

This is the new name for the former Hilton and ACH casino. I'm wondering by the "club" part of the name what that will mean.

Did they ever switch the chips from AC Hilton to ACH? I'm guessing not, since ACH was intended to be a temporary name.

I can live with that. I really like that property. We enjoyed staying there (to our great surprise).

Interesting article, thanks for posting it.

I think their strategy is significantly flawed and unfortunately will not bring them the success they need to stay in business.

While I agree on the value approach, I do not agree with putting such a heavy focus on locals.

I have to comment on this. The Hilton was a place we use to stay when we first started going to ac 12 years ago. Its nice and quiet at the end of the boardwalk, they were the first ones with the beach bar, etc. Now we stay at caesars all the time however will walk down or take a cab every so often for a change of pace. When we were there this past August, we walked to the Hilton on a hot sunny day. All we could think about was getting a nice refreshing cocktail at the end of our journey......Well apparently the dizzy dolphin does NOT open until noon, and there are NO OTHER BARS open before 12:00 at the hilton (ach) whatever. I know some people are going to jump in and say "well you can get a drink at a slot or table (which we did) but its not the same. If you want a nice stiff drink, or nice glass of wine in a glass, etc etc - cc'mon people- its a casino- have at least one bar thats open 24 hours a day (or close to it). I have heard this complaint from many of my 30 and 40 something friends - and I think its a valid example of the hilton not catering to what needs to be catered to. :) Just my opinion.........;) I hope they make some changes (the right changes) and are successful in their future endeavors.

I have always enjoyed my stays at the former Hilton. I have always found my room to be clean and comfortable. This casino draws an older more laid back crowd. The Dizzy Dolphin is a small bar/club for a casino. I think the idea is not to attract too many young people that will chase off the older regulars. I stayed at the Tropicana a few months ago and while at times it was entertaining,a lot of drunk early 20 somethings becomes a bit too much.

The latest strategy is to attract a more local crowd and have the resturaunts more reasonably priced. I did see where they are going to have FREE parking soon. Times are tough for this casino. They laid off a lot of workers a few months ago. My guess is before noon the bar isn't a money maker for them.
