I heard the Black Keys will be the opening headliner at Revel. Anyone else hear this?
Who are the Black Keys?
Nevermind, I just googled them. They are a rock band if anyone else cares. They've sold over 2 million albums.
sjp1, I had to do the same thing. I'm sure most of the groups they have there, I won't know.
The Black Keys are an excellent choice if this information is correct, but I personally would have paid whatever it takes to get Lionel Richie to headline my property. I mean, as the new, big thing in AC, doesn't Revel want people "Dancin' on the Ceiling"?!
Just like All the other Casinos in A/C,Save a buck and get No-name entertainment and try to draw customers. This place is on course for a short life
Most of their opening acts look like they will be closing acts!!!
>> no-name entertainment...<<
just to clarify... when you said "no-name entertainment," did you mean the grammy-award winning "black keys," who have sold over two million albums and whose last album was #2 on the billboard 200 chart?
or did you mean "element K," "go go gadjet, "uuu," "hector rosado," "shorty long and the jersey horns," "chorduroy," "crazy heart," "the amish outlaws," "jimmy and the parrots" and "peat moss and the fertilizers," all of whom will be playing this month at the sands in bethlehem, pennsylvania?
or did you mean the grammy-award winners "coldplay" and "maroon 5," both of which are also rumored to be booked for the revel?
UK, I haven't heard the Coldplay rumor, but that would be a big-time get. I actually had "In My Place" playing in the background before I read your post.
I saw it listed as rumor on Press of Atlantic City along with Coldplay, its seems pretty likely.
They are a good band, good general appeal if you haven't heard them before, they definitely have 60's rock band influence in their sound imo.
WoW that Sands books alot of Great entertainment for one month,DON'T see that in any Hotel in A/C.
Damn,A/C only wishes it could pack'em in like those Pa, Hotels.
No wonder revenues keep going UP!!!Edited: 04 March 2012, 11:59
How big is Revel's entertainment venue? Coldplay could sell out boardwalk hall with no problem. And the black keys are a pretty good get. They have alot of sold out concerts listed on their tour schedule.
