Caesar's or Borgata

I used to go to Caesar's, but have been staying at Borgata for the last 2 years.

I am thinking of going back to Caesar's, but am concerned that the place has become run down. I am a player, and Caesar'a seems to be offering me more, but I also like really nice. Any comments?

Depends on what you like - if bottled beer is a big draw for you, or just the overall quality of drinks, stick with Borgata. If you like the freedom to casino-hop and the boardwalk location, Caesar's is not bad. Some of the rooms are a little run down, but in general I've had no real complaints. You've been to both so you know there's no comparison room-wise. Caesar's has a nice variety of restaurants in all price ranges, and gives pretty good comps. Their VIP club is open, whereas Borgata's is closed. They have an outdoor pool and beach access. If you're coming in the summer, why not give Caesar's another try so you can enjoy the things it has to offer over the Borgata, which is location, location, location.

Good Luck!

My husband and I also appreciate a finer hotel room (truth be told, I am a little fussy when it comes to accommodations), and in my opinion Borgata's is a better choice. That being said, certain Caesar's rooms are also nice. What I dislike about Caesar's is that I have to pay more to guarantee a nicer room. Since we are only moderate gamblers we rarely receive free room offers during the peak season, but we do get discounted offers often.

Just curious: what do you consider to be the "better offers" from Caesars? I stay at the Borgata all the time but used to stay at Caesars in the Centurion Towers. Those are the nicer rooms at Caesars and they were quite pleasant and nothing to complain about...BUT... I do much prefer the elegance and LARGE dressing/bath area of the Borgata but that is just a personal thing.

Caesars has nice playing areas, and are undergoing some construction in the play areas, but I have not been there during the construction. Also, there are more day trippers and bus tour people (As you probably are aware, the Borgata does not have any).

I find I get very nice offers (well, bonus slot cash, extra slot dollars on certain dates and some cash back), free parking, $10 buffets, etc. at Borgata but would like to know if I am missing something at Caesars (LOL)

The Borgata now offers Black Lable players free drinks until 9:00 P.M. at the B lounge (probably to try to make up for the inconvenience of the closure of the VIP room while they are under construction).

In a nutshell, if you have been there before and liked it you most likely will still like it.

I have always went to Caesars, comp rooms, usually in Ocean Tower suites (very nice). Be careful, Harrah's "system" must be ALOT different than Caesars. Last two trips the desk clerk tried to put us in the motal (Temple Towers), it took calling a supervisor to get in Centurion Towers. We haven't changed our gambling style at all, so the only thing I can attribute this to is the Harrah's takeover. Have reservations at Borgata next month. I just didn't like the hassle at check-in at Caesars. Has anyone else had simular experience since the takeover?

I am leaving tomorrow morning for Caesar's and return on Monday. I will post a review if that helps.

We always have stayed in the Ballys Tower Rooms and our last trip in Feb when we checked in the girl told us that they had no rooms at all in the Tower and we were there for 4 nights and she said they were booked up the whole 4 nights and she tried to stick us in the old shabby rooms and i totally refused it , especially after driving 11 hours from Canada. I told her my slot host booked us in and she said one moment , she went into the back room , came out in a few minutes and like magic a tower room appeared for the whole 4 nights.

I think she went back to call my slot host but the point is your absolutely right about since the Harrahs takeover they have been trying to stick people in the garbage rooms and from many people i talked with over our 5 day stay there were alot of unhappy guests at Ballys and they to experienced the same game of pawning the old garbage rooms off to good and long time players/guests of Ballys.

They better start doing something about this and especially Ballys main casino which to me is a crap hole for a casino or they will lose alot of loyal customers. Thats the problem with one company owning so many hotel/casinos it really has a negative effect on customer service / and reward systems. It seems like they really don't care but wait until a large percentage of their customers start heading over to other establishments to spend their dollars. Than they might wake up and take notice what is going on.

If Harrahs wants to keep their new and long time loyal customers the people in charge there better open their eyes and give their head a shake because it won't be/take long before they notice their customers leaving for good.

Terminator,

We are moderate, but frequent gamblers (living so close to AC). In the past we never had a problem getting into a Tower room at Bally's when we booked a special offer. Lately we have avoided booking at Bally's altogether because they all but told us that we were never going to see the inside of a Tower room again without paying full rack rate. My uncle is a real high roller (full comps all the way) and even he is being put into those shabby rooms when he shows up at the casino. At one point getting his meals and drinks comped became a problem. When he complained his host told him that with the Harrah's takeover the entire comp system is different, and there is little the individual employees can do for customers. I predict that people are going to catch on soon and being frequenting properties that treat them a little better.

FORMJ ,What you brought up really disguses me but it is a fact and the changes for the worse are here but at least we all realize it . We the people work so hard for our money that we spend in Harrahs establishments and to get treated like this is just a slap in the face. We just started going to AC last August and the first time we stayed in a Ballys Tower Room and we had to pay for it because it was our first time. It was so nice and very convenient access to everything.

Now things have changed and the Tower Rooms are for Comped guests only but they are holding the Tower Rooms for Platinum , Diamond and above players. We have a slot host who is such a wonderful lady and she has been so good to us but as you stated and we were also told that The Hosts are limited now much more than before the Harrahs take over.

You know it is hard to switch from your favourite casino to another because over time we have become so familiar with the area , the machines and for regulars the staff and all have become a comfort zone where you feel like home. I am going to call my host later today to try to book for July so i will post the outcome.

One of the biggest thing that i have a major problem with is that my parents both signed up for Ballys players Cards last August. They were both getting 2 nights per month each but since the Harrahs takeover their policy is to give the room comp to the highest rated player out of the two. This is so wrong and unfair no need to say anymore.

If this continues with Ballys we are going to look for another Hotel / Casino to be our Host Establishment and if that doesn't work were thinking of stopping our Atlantic City Trips altogether and just go to Las Vegas every 4 months. ( never been to Las Vegas )

Hopefully it won't come down to that but we'll just have to wait and see about this July booking.

thanks for your input all

Based on the comments I read on other forums as well as here, I have decided to do the Borgata. I know the hotel is nicer, just not too thrilled with the location.

Terminator, I think you will find Las Vegas a great alternative. Not sure how their comps compare, but I have never had any trouble there. Maybe because there is much more competition to get your business.

Also, most of the hotels are beautiful and not run down.

It's funny, because it's the same owners as the Atlantic City casinos, but they seem to spend the bucks there. Maybe it's a different class of people, or maybe they don't have to work as hard in A.C.

Unfortunately, it's just much farther away.

Stay with Borgata. Caesar's has made no attempt to improve. It is the same dump you used to play at.
