Tell me about Borgata

My husband and I are thinking of stopping by Borgata during one of our upcoming trips. We only went there once and it was years ago. How does everyone like Borgata? Do they offer anything for inactive players? Do they have VP bars...are the drinks comped?

There are comped drinks when playing like most casinos.

If you have a CET Diamond or Trump Chairman card, you can get immediately upgraded to Black Label and $100 slot dollars. If not, they are pretty quick to start offering comped rooms and bonus slot dollars down the road for even moderate play. Their one drawback is you have to earn a minimum of $5 comp to accrue comp dollars.

There is much to like about the Borgata. I find the place to excel in many ways. There are many different dining options ranging from very casual to quite upscale. Wolfgang Puck and Bobby Flay have restaurants at the Borgata, and there is also an Old Homestead steakhouse. They have almost any table game or slot you would want to play. I find them to be among the most generous in terms of comp rooms and slot play. As UKstages points out, the rooms tend to be quite nice, having recently been remodeled. Some may view the Borgata's distance from the Boardwalk as a negative, but if you have already spent some time on the boardwalk, then the Marina area with Borgata, Harrahs, and Golden Nugget can be a nice change. Getting to the boardwalk still isn't that difficult...you can hop on a jitney for $2.25 or grab a cab for about $13.

Borgata is a nice place and i am pretty sure you will enjoy yourself. The only downside to me is that it isn't on the boardwalk so I can't walk the boards, beach or casino hop. Others see the separation as a plus. Either way you will have a good time. I have seen the nightly comedy shows a few times and they are generally pretty good, and they seem to draw top of the line headliner entertainment.

As others said VP bars are among if not the best in town with comp drinks while playing.

And if you go Aug 24-27 they are having a Turn in your Jewelry for 120% value in slot dollars. I haven't receive an answer to my query as to whether or not I have to remove the fingers from the rings or if they simply remove them during the smelting process (and yes I really did ask).

Do they do the tier match for out of state (Arizona) players, and are the slot dollars available on the day you sign up for their card?

if you have a CZR diamond card, yes, they will honor your status, even if most of your play has been at ak-chin, which i assume it is if you're from arizona.

you will be given 100 slot dollars to use the very same day, as well as 20 comp dollars. the comp dollars are supposed to be used for you and a guest to visit the amphora elite players lounge (cost: 10 comp dollars per person for black label card holders and 1 guest), but you can also use the comp dollars elsewhere, including the very good borgata buffet (which is also 10 comp dollars each for a black label card holder and guest). you'll also get a room offer, which you probably won't use, as i'm guessing you are already booked at another AC hotel.

i think the tippy top of the headline entertainment that you are likely to see at borgata's comedy club would be kevin meany and jimmie "j.j." walker. each of us can decide for ourselves whether these are headliners.

they do get actual headliners at the borgata, like jerry seinfeld, jay leno, kathy griffin and chris tucker, but these acts are not part of the borgata's "comedy club" series.

Is it possible to walk from the Borgata to the Boardwalk, on a map it looks like about an hours stroll?
