Reopening of Atlantic City Casinos

From the Golden Nugget Facebook page:

"Just to update everyone - appears as if all casinos will be back in action Friday morning. There might be a way to open earlier, but everyone wants to make sure properties and roads are safe. So if you had weekend plans for AC, keep them. If you didn't have plans, make them - make sure you go on our website and book a room!!!!!"

Interesting being most people in the area don't have power and numerous roads are still closed. There are way too many factors that will.make this weekend a downer in AC but by all means book your rooms.

Happy to hear. As much as people don't want to admit it, getting the casinos back up and running will help the city/state bounce back. I have plans to visit next week, and still am planning on making my trip.

As of early this morning you could not get into AC via the Expressway, Rte 30, or Rte 40.

I would be more concerned with getting gas. Having said that I can go to AC and make it almost all or all the way back without needing gas.

Are you kidding me? Get a reality check. If you want to help the state bounce back, take that money you plan on donating to the casinos and send it to an organization that will help the people in the state that no longer have homes & cars. People that have lost everything except the clothes on their backs .

I agree that spending money in the casinos seems frivolous when you look around at the rest of the city, let alone the rest of the state, but don't forget the thousands of casino employees who have not been able to work. They are not being paid for this forced time off and also have families to support. In today's economy, no one can afford this, whether they live in the area or not.

I may have come across as insensitive, and that was not my intent at all. I have all intentions of donating to the relief effort. Sorry to come across the wrong way in my message.
