Is everyone keeping their reservations?

My husband and I have reservations for Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend. We have already arranged days off from work. Are people still keeping their reservations? Gas shortage is a problem on Long Island, but it should be cleared up in the next few days...we hope. We have already donated a bunch of clothes and donated to the Red Cross and will continue to help. But there is still some guilt about taking our upcoming trip. We were lucky in our area of Long Island...but some areas got hit just as bad as Jersey. Just curious...are others keeping their plans to visit AC?

I, too, have reservations for next weekend. I share your sense of guilt about going to a casino in the midst of such a national crisis. I have tix to see Lisa Marie Presley, so I think I am going to go, but it seems strange. If gas is hard to come by, or roads are unopen I can certainly change my mind.

Someone suggested to me that the employees of the casinos need business, especially those whose work is based on tips. Rather than putting money into a machine, give a generous tip to those taking care of you.

I am curious to hear what others are thinking.

We are keeping are plans however we not going until the 17th. You should not feel guilty about going next weekend. Enough time will have been past by then and the economy of AC needs our business to survive as well. We have also taken some cash from our bankroll and have donated to the Red Cross.

The "crowds" this weekend looked like a Monday in February. Come on down!

I had a reservation for this past Friday night at Harrahs. Of course, never went down and when I finally got power back yesterday I called and they of course said no charge for the missed ressie.

I asked for a new one for 2 weeks on Friday the 16th, but couldnt get a comp room at Harrahs, so I took Showboat. He told me to check back and see if Harrahs comp would become available.

We have reservation for next Sunday at Showboat and we are definitely going. We were very fortunate to not sustain much damage but really need to get away next week. We too look at it as helping the employees get back to work. It could be one step back to nomalcy.

We have reservations for tues and wed at caesars and thurs nite at taj. I had the same feeling of guilt but i thought it over and have decided that im sure the employees need to feel their work place is gonna resume back to normal and the last thing they need is jobs to be cut do to lack of full casinos... so we will be heading down for the 4 days. When i called tonite the 800 number is still saying no restaurants are open and no room service and no table games but according to facebook the sites are saying that some, if not most, of them are open. Does anyone know about the restaurants and the table games?

I'm sure the table games will be up and running and 90% sure restaurants will be back to normal. Resorts may have issues, major flooding.

I'll be coming in from Virginia Friday-Sunday, staying at Harrah's. Will be sure to gas up before we get to NJ.

Have reservations next w/e at Harrahs. If my charter is going, I suppose I will be on it. That has to assume that the airport is open, the bus has gas, and hotel/casino has food. When I called Harrah's today, the recording said they were closed. The national 800 number for Caesers told me that Harrahs was open but with "no food or beverage" service.

Time will tell as the week progresses. I, too, have some guilt. I am telling myself (maybe foolishly) that the people and the area need some normalcy, as well as their jobs. I will tip generously.
