Atlantic City roads and boardwalk are fine. From what I've read Seaside Heights is in bad shape, the boardwalk and piers there took significant damage. I'm not even sure if they are allowing non-residents onto the island.
Many of the town areas along the NJ Coast have restricted areas. I hope others will detail the specifics. Boardwalks and amusements have taken a beating. This would be a Hurricane/Tropical Storm Comparison ( similar to Long Island, Staten Island and other devastated areas ( similar to visitng New Orleans Post Katrina).
I suggest doing a few searches on Google, YOUTUBE, YAHOO for more Specfics.
AC survived rather well, but many other parts of the Jersey shore did not, especially Ocean County. See reports and pictures/video about that here:
Please stay away from the destruction areas. The local municipalities have enough problems without having to deal with the curious.Edited: 20 November 2012, 10:35
News reports seaside height quite hard hit. AB boardwalk lost a small section of boardwalk that was already closed. Main area by casinos reported ok
