Atlantic city vs ocean city August 2013

Hi there! I am planning on heading to NYC for a few days and would like to combine with a few days on the beaches nearby. I was thinking atlantic city, ocean city, or any other suggestions. My kids are 18 and 20 and want some fun, relaxation as well as nice beaches. Any thoughts re hotels? My budget is about 200/night, and can easily swing mid week at the beach. I was looking at revel in atlantic city. Thanks!

Do you have a specific hotel you can recommend? I have heard that they are quite pricey and not great...

Wildwood has the best Boardwalk for kids the age of yours, and the beach is free (as is Atlantic Citys)Moreys Piers in Wildwood is, by far the best Amusement park at the shore.. However Atlantic City will have better hotels for the price(The casinos try to keep the rates affordable to entice gamblers). The restaurants will be better quality in AC if that matters.

Ocean City is really best for familys with young kids. Its a dry town, most of the amusements are geared towards younger kids.

Most Morey properties are acceptable.

I don't have any suggestions for Wildwood motels. Because it's been over a decade since I've stayed in one. But in another thread you did mention Revel. tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g28951-i77-k666481… Is Revel in your price range? Because you can ask posters about the Revel rooms if it is

Ocean City is a "dry town". Meaning no alcohol.

Check out Long Brach Island

>>Wildwood is what your children would really like<< There is no need to stop typing. Go ahead. Give the OP a motel recommendation, based upon where you've stayed in Wildwood

If you're really just looking to stay on the beach and need a nice hotel and great food choices AC is good and Revel if in you're price range can't be beat. if you're looking to be able to cut loose your older children to go out and have fun they may be better off in Wildwood. I don't have first hand knowledge on Wildwood hotels but from what I've seen most are older motels, not many hotel resorts like AC has.

Spring Lake NJ Is a a very nice beach town. It has been referred to a "exclusive".

"The Breakers" is oceanfront

Luxurious,;but you will pay for it.

If you have the budget you should consider it
