One night at Atl Club, Showboat and Revel

Arrived in AC around noon on Saturday and went straight to Atlantic Club. The place was pretty empty except for the gift shop. The doorman who has worked there over 30 years told us the staff had just been informed on Thursday that they were being let go. Pretty gloomy news.... Continued

We headed over to Showboat around 3 to check in.. No line at all. Got a room in the Orleans tower which was fine, but I think its starting to show its age. Regular old armoire with the pull out shelf for the TV, but it was clean enough for one night.

I did not like the casino at all. I havent been there in about a year, and I feel that they had the same old tired slot machines as they did many years back. There were none of the newer machines that I like playing on. My husband and the friends we were with felt the same. I just didnt see much to catch my interest.

On the other hand, I LOVED Revel. We had been in there twice since they opened and we were given a free room offer for the night, so I booked it and let my daughter have the room. We walked over from Showboat and went to the lobby to check in. There were 3 or 4 people in line and there was no problem adding my daughters name to the room.

Well, I should have given her the Showboat room and taken the REvel as it was on the 45th floor with a view I have NEVER had in AC. It was just breath

taking to have the floor to ceiling windows with swivel chairs in front. Just beautiful!

Plus the casino was loaded with much more exciting games. I didnt win or lose big, but got enough play for my money to keep me happy.

However, I will say that I was a tiny bit disappointed at Relish for breakfast as I thought their coffee was bad, the orange juice tasted like powdered drink mix and my bacon was barely luke warm. But the pancakes were good, and my daughters boyfriend had the $3.99 special which was great!

I cant wait to go back to Revel!

Agreed about Revel-we can't wait to go back, either! Had been there maybe 3 times and was never impressed, but on our last trip, something changed for us. We didn't win, but did get quite a bit of play. Good selection of machines, too.

My MIL went to Revel for her bday recently. And she hit for $770. $120 on 1 machine. $650 on another. She'd hit both in time to eat at Mussell Bar HH (5~7). Mmmm Mussell Bar HH!
