Why do couples play on the same card?? I just never thought of doing this, is there a good reason for it??

The more a single person plays on a single day produces better comp offers.

I am bringing a friend that doesn't normally go to casinos. Since I am diamond, she can get a little better choice of drinks at Harrahs with my card in the machine. Plus any play helps me, while having her own card would not be worth it since she would most likely not use the points

Piggybacking on this, what amount reasonably triggers such offers? $50, $70, $100? I certainly need to bump up my play, but cannot do $100 a day.

It is not how much you win or lose but how much you recycle through the slot machines. Each casino has different criteria for rewards. The Borgata needs a minimum of $500 played to earn their minimum $5 comp. This may or may not kick in other offers like comped rooms and bonus slot downloads. I have kicked in comped rooms after earning $10 comp ($1000 through the penny slots in a day).

My fwb and myself have separate cards but, when we book trips we use both cards and we allways get comp weekends no problem. We have tried booking with just one of our cards and no free weekends so I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference one card for both or two separate.

Tx Mom and Pat; nice intel. No wonder a bus mate always gets a Borgata comp suite. She stayed on one machine 12 consecutive hours, and was thrilled to merely lose $200. This is more or less her typical routine there. She's a recycling plant unto herself.

It may not make a difference when you can combine cards for a comped CET room but not all casinos have that option. Plus you may be missing out on achieving a higher player's club tier, CET free buffet offers and larger slot dollar coupons by not combining.

There is no way we would stay Borgata Black Label if we didn't combine our slot play and simulcast bets.

A good rule of thumb for comps is take your theoretical loss for a day (coin in x 10% casino theoretical win for example). Then expect the casino to spend about 40% of that theoretical loss on comps for you. There are many more factors involved, but the fact that ADT (your average daily theoretical) is the basis for comps. The casinos know that if they can keep you at a machine or get you to come back eventually your theoretical loss amount will catch up to you. Comps keep you happy while there, and keep you coming back.
