Advice For Upcoming Taj/Showboat/Resorts Trip

We are going down to Atlantic City mid-week in late March for a couple free nights at the Taj (Peyton Manning free room promotion). I'm planning to play at CET Properties (and maybe a bit at Resorts).

I'm just a CET Gold player but I always (2011 to Early 2013) used to get Sun-Thurs comp and decent weekend discount rates. Lately, I haven't had any Atlantic City offers in my Total Rewards account whatsoever -- only free rooms in Las Vegas.

I don't want to go chasing comps, but does anyone have any advice as to a good strategic way to gamble (or someone who I should talk to) to try to get back in CET's "good graces"? OR would anyone recommend another casino where I could achieve these comps with my normal play-- I usually take $400-1000 in dedicated gambling money to last me over the 2-3 day trip.

You can try concentrating on play at Taj to see what they offer you

If you are only looking for comps/rooms in AC I would recommend concentrating most/all of your play at Taj. I have a similar budget and was getting free rooms 7 nights a week after obtaining roughly 650 tier points over my first weekend there. Either way the best strategy would be to play at one casino. I would walk around all three and play at whichever one you like best.

I'm interested in trying Taj but I haven't heard great things about the place... seems pretty empty all the time.

I'd much rather try to get something going with Resorts or CET (again). Is it normal for all offers to come to a screeching halt, like that? I almost feel like CET missed money that I was dropping on table games or put a "mark" on my account or something...

CET may have accidentally blocked your offers. This has happened to us a few times. Once it took me a year to get the offers and mailings again when I was Diamond! It took a savvy Showboat supervisor to unblock me. More recently, it has happened again so we decided just not to play at any of the AC CET casinos anymore because it was not worth the stress.

LOL, Cmom. The CET casinos are certainly stressful. You made a wise choice. My mailings still haven't started up after six plus weeks of weekly visits to Showboat. I don't drop much, but still.

TAJ is not bad, the chairman tower is IMO one of the best that i have ever stayed in, the ocean views are also amazing. Now the other Trump property, the plaza is empty, dirty, and terrible. I would have no problem staying and playing at the TAJ, the TAJ is also IMO very generous when it comes to comps, a lot better than CET

I also used to enjoy the Wild West casino till CET closed the Virginia City Buffet and made the place a ghost town. We probably would have loved the Atlantic Club but were already enjoying being Borgata Black Label.

We pretty much only go to AC once a year (this year hopefully twice) for a few years now. We always every month get the CET offers. I played a slot at the Taj last June for maybe an hour and have been getting offers every month from them. Spent a few hours in the Trop in January (first time there), now getting offers from them. AJT, have you called CET to see if you have any offers? I always prefer to call and speak to someone.

Just wanted to follow up to my initial post...

We just went down for our stay and I put most of my play through Taj (with a bit going to Revel and a few hands at both Resorts and Showboat. When the time came to check out, my girlfriend asked about staying an extra night. After taking my card and (I think) calling a host, they comped us an extra night.

We had a ton of fun (especially Friday night when the Ego club area had a cover band playing) and I definitely got more comp dollars at Taj than I've gotten over a lifetime at CET.

I also got 8 dollars for very little play at Revel and they also upgraded my Players card. That is the first time I've ever been above the "basic" players card
