Restaurants and shows

Hi there. We have family friends who will be spending the week in AC as a retirement gift on March 18-25. They are staying at the Marriott Villa Resorts. What restaurants do you recommend, I and some others would like to get gift certificates. It doesn't matter if it's high end or a sub shop. Any suggestions welcome. I will do some searching myself but if anyone has any show suggestions, I'd like to hear them too. Thanks!

I saw the best of Broadway show at the trop and it was very good. You can get discount tickets from ticketmaster by putting the word "daily" in the ticket deals partner section. you can also check out the south jerset insider magazine on line for show listings at all the casino. the have both headliner and production shows listed. The resturant right in the Marriot (the Seaview Marriot) is really nice... I forget the name but there is only one high end resturant there.. and it is really good.

If you want to give them lots of options go to entertainment.com and get them an entertainment book -- they could use a lot of coupons in a week...some of the buys are pretty good...

Also try Simply Certificates (these are gift certs that you can use lots of places (also available onthe web

Since your staying out side AC you have alot of choices for meals. I agree with some that have been stated before, but here's a few more.

There is a place out near Leeds Point (where the Jersey Devil was born) called Oyster Creek. It's at the end of a road on the marsh/bay. They serve Seafood that is usually pretty good. It's really kind of cool. Ask the people at Seaview about it. It's only a 10 minute drive. Another choice off shore would be the Rams Head Inn. Once your in AC try Docs (Great seafood), Cafe 2825 or Angelos Fairmont tavern .

There is a local place for some casual burgers and beer right across from the Marriot that you can walk to for a quick lunch. If you like to golf bring your clubs. The Bay course at Seaview is a old Donal Ross design and it's a short, wide open course that has some great history. Sam Snead won the 1943 PGA there. The ladys tour also used to play there.

Oyster Creek Inn is a unique place & I highly recommend it, but they are not open much during the winter. Try calling 1st to get their hours - perhaps weekends only. When you 1st approach the place, it will remind you of the old crab shacks in the outskirts of Baltimore - the ones that were just screen porches w/picnic tables w/old newspaper tablecloths, like Kahler's in Rosedale on Philadelphia Road that overlooked the minor league baseball park[sadly both are gone]..
