Weather in El Gouna in February

Have just booked a week at the Miramor for the middle of Feb and was wondering what the weather would be like on an evening, Will cardigans and light jackets be ok or will we need something warmer. We have never been to Eygpt before and can't wait to go. The reviews of the Miramor and El Gouna are mainly excellent so I hope we've made the right choice for our first trip to Eygpt. Any info greatly appreciated

I'm sure you will love your visit to el gouna, it is quite a captivating area.

February will/ can be a little cool in the evening so light jackets and woolies are advised. Last year when we visited in Feb it was unexpectedly fab so it is slightly unpredictable of late.

We were there over christmas which was very nice, however we had two evenings of heavy rain and storms which we haven't experienced in the previous 4 years. It was sunny the followind days though which was more important.

November to the end of March is their winter but very pleasant to us. The wind can be cooling but sit out of it and its fine.

Enjoy!

Hi Holidaylover1111

Just to follow up what my fellow North Walian Marcus has said. We have always holidayed the beginning of March to different parts of the Red Sea and Luxor and the weather is usually the same(apart from a holiday in Marsa Alam one Feb which was quite noticeably warmer).

Sharm experienced unusual torrential rain last year which is practically unheard of in March, so the weather has been slightly unusual of late.

We visited Hurghada last March, and had a couple of days of sandstorms, we found it slightly windier to the other resorts we have been to, though it can be quite hot out of the wind. The sun goes down about 5pm, which we find ideal as no hot sticky nights trying to sleep!!!

If you are thinking of going out on a boat trip, the sea can be slightly choppy at times, and it can get quite chilly once out at sea in the open, so I would suggest take a fleece just in case!! We had a boat trip cancelled last March due to high winds.

We are off to El Gouna this time and are really looking forward to it, as having done all the sights we wanted to do over the years, we feel, judging by other poster's reports on the laid back atmoshphere of El Gouna, that we have saved the best for last, and perhaps this will be our chosen destination from now on!!!

Enjoy your hols

p.s. Don't change your money here, you will get a better exchange rate over there, the little Kiosks opposite you once you go through arrivals, will give you lower denominations also, to tide you over(for tips) until you get settled. These kiosks are also where you can get your visas which last year was approx £13 and much cheaper than your rep getting them and then charging you upwards of £15!!!

Not been in Feb.........but have been twice at the very beginning of March. Fantastic during the day. The !st year was sometimes a wee bit chilly in the evening. Mostly due to a very brisk breeze. Not by any means arctic-but certainly worthy of a cardi or light fleecie. The 2nd time was considerably warmer and far less breezy.

Therefore I would suggest having some long trousers and a woolly pully(or similar) as a precaution for evening. If you don't need it then wonderful. But if you do-then you're equipped and ready
