weather in el gouna now

Hi

We are going for a week to the Movenpick 21st Feb and have been watching the weather online and the temperatures for the week we are there dropping all the time after we booked it, todays forecast for next week shows the temp hardly getting over 20 max while we are there and rain on our last day ! Also looks like its 15 and 18 degrees max just before we get there.

As one of our main reasons to go to this area is the sun its a bit worrying.

I wonder how accurate the online weather sites are as they also seem to vary quite a lot between the different sites.

Anyone have local information about this ?

Any temperature given by an online website is it's 'shade' temperature. As you'll know yourself, even in the UK if the weather man says it's going to be 20c and you sit in the sun, it'll feel a lot warmer. Wind strength and direction take the edge of these shade temperatures which is why you'll notice that they drop if it's windier or a northly wind. Out of the sun and the wind it will be a lot warmer than that.

I'm going on the 24th and the forecast is similar for Hurgada, but hey, it's Sunny, it will be warm and better than here..and consider youself lucky you weren't there last week were it was overcast for days on end...

Incidentally a lot of these 'long term' forecasts can go on monthly averages so it's what they expect it to be - as it gets closer to the time don't be surprised to see it a lot warmer - it reached 30 the other day - and I'm sure the long range forecast had an average of 20 until about 3 days before it.

Enjoy!
