Visa - do we need one?

Hi

How much is the visa for Hurghada please? Do we need one if we don't intend to travel out of that area? I know in Sharm if you were stating in that area a visa wasn't required is is the same in Hurghada?

Thanks

Hi

We went straight ahead to the bank windows and paid £13 each whereas those that were ushered to the left to the Holiday Rep windows paid £15, not much you may say but for the 4 of us £8 is still £8!!!!

Have fun

Yes, same price for adults & children alike.

In Dec (in Sharm) it was £10 each or £13 thru the reps or $15 (non-rep price) or $18 thru the rep.

The rate may vary slightly with the exchange rate.

If you exchange the majority of your money in Egypt you will get about 10% better rate then here.

Keep an eye on the rate with any of these sites:

Please note all EU passengers entering Hurghada, require a visa, unlike Sharm that is in the Sinai where different rules apply that were put in place by the Camp David agreement of 1978.

The Sinai Peninsular is the only part of Egypt where an entry visa is not required but there are rules that apply if you intend on leaving the Sinai Peninsular whilst on your holiday for example traveling to Cairo you will require an entry visa, I know that there is every year confusion about the visa requirements for Egypt and every year this question does come up.

For anyone traveling to Egypt and intending on touring outside any of the resorts in the Sinai including Taba ans Sharm please make sure obtain a visa on arrival or through your tour rep.

For those people visiting all other resorts outside the Sinai including Marsa Alum, Hurghada and El Gouna you must obtain your visa on arrival, the current price is $15 US Dollars (that is about 13 pound UK sterling) and you can pay for it in US Dollars UK Sterling Euro or Egyptian Pounds there are no discounts for children.

I hope that this information is of some use to you and if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me all the best.
