Hurghada airport

Hi all

Am thinking I'll probably be taking US dollars for tips & trips etc while staying at the Fort Arabesque in June.

Can anyone advise whether the aiport take US dollars for food/drinks etc?

Thanks a lot

As a further point, the items in the duty free shop in the arrivals hall are all priced in US$--so if you have them it takes away any hassle about exchange rates.

yes you can buy duty free on arrival but it is very hit and miss what they have in stock so if you want a paticular brand you would be better off getting it the plane or gatwick

Hi tinkerjulwales

As karenandpaul said it is hit and miss for duty free and if its cigarettes your wanting then they only seem to do Marlboro in hurghada and we didn't see any British brands on sale anywhere during our stay or at duty free departures. The cafe upstairs in departures has a seated smoking area and the staff are really polite and helpful. They made and packaged some sandwiches for us to take on the plane as for some reason Thomas Cook don't sell baguettes etc like other airlines we have travelled with!!

Enjoy your holiday
