Perfect tour to Cairo??

Hi all, we are trying to find a perfect tour to Cairo from Sharm over the Internet for October, but haven't managed to find what we want yet. We want to go for one day by plane, not too early - with pick-up about 7am (not 5am like some firms offer, it is a holiday after all!), see Pyramids and the Sphynx, pop to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, go on a boat by Nile and maybe to see a bit of Cairo (but not for shopping!). We want to go in a small group (max 8-10 people) with a decent guide. Do you know if anything like this possible to find (and for a reasonable amount of money!)?

Have you considered booking flights and guide separately for your own private tour? It really is not so expensive if booked right.

Flights via www.egyptair.com putting egypt as your home country. I have seen prices around the £45-£50 return. Friday is a good day to go as the traffic is a lot less, but there are flights from Sharm to Cairo every day.

Guide - Lots of recommendations on here type 'guides' into the search box while waiting for more replies.

I have personally used www.reallifeegypt.com (English/Egyptian company) and www.egyptguest.com(Egyptian company)who do private tours of Cairo. Just tell them what you want to see and they will sort out the itinerary.

lol ;-0 Egyptair website can be a bit of a pain but if you spend a bit of time playing with dates and times you should find something hopefully.

Let us know how you get on or if you need some help.

have to agree with kaz here . we did it privately last sept , with a local friend as our companion/guide . also spent a night in his home village 60 miles out of cairo , that was the REAL egypt & an amazing experience .

spoke to friends at our hotel who had gone on a standard trip & they were disappointed , said they wished they`d gone with us instead .

not much difference pricewise ( prob a bit cheaper ) have a look around & see what you think .

I have seen most of the major sites in Cairo and have to say it is worth every penny. Did you find any flights?

A guide will not cost you another £100 each on top of the £55 flights BUT of course some people prefer to have everything organised for them so if that's the case then what the above poster said may suit you. If you do book via a local agent make sure you are not going to be in a big group as it can sometimes be annoying waiting for others to keep up etc.
