early evening in Naama Centre

Hi everyone, its me again, as the sun goes down early in January we will obviously return to our room from sunbathing (hopefully) early and there will be a few hours to fill before dinner. If we fancied going into the Naama Centre about 6ish to have a wander and maybe a few pre dinner drinks before returning to the Sonesta for our main meal, is the haggling worse at about this time? will there be many tourists doing the same thing? Don't want to be the only couple wandering about? It seems a shame to have to sit in the room for a few hours, we like to get out and I also do not want to just sit in the hotel bar, I do like a wander and a walk. Any help please. Regards Jo

Hi,

I don't think there ius a good or bad time for the hassle; it's just there.

You won't be the only ones wandering about.

Check this Na'ama map:

sharmelsheikhrealestate.com/areas/naama-bay

See the street with the Camel Bar on? His Majecty, the King of Bahrain Street. There is a nice cafe called Tche Tches nearby (same side, bit more towards the Maritim Resort & Casino hotel) & I think their cappuccinos are hard to beat. Loos are ok too.

Come further down the street, & walk between the "Cataract" & the green square thing, down to the prom, turn left & within a few strides is Viva Beach Bar. That's a nice place too. Nice views over the bay & of the Iberotel Lido, Helnan Marina hotels, all lit up. You can see the "On Deck" restaurant of the Lido from there; worth a visit.

Bac k on His Maj Street, on the cornber facing the Maritim Resort & Casino, same side as the Camel Bar, is Dananner Steak House & that's also worth a visit; does more than just steak. I know you're AI but you may fancy a change. Loos are ok in all that I mentioned :-)

x

Nephthys, you have come up trumps again. Thanks again, I will take all these places on board and have a little wander to them, and yes we do intend to eat out a couple of times out of our week, just for something different. You also earlier gave me advice on where to buy the antinal also and I have printed off that piece of information. You do great work. Many thanks again, Jo

Thanks Simba, will bear that in mind. This is not the first time I have heard good reports about this restaurant in this hotel. Oh dear so much to do and see and so little time to do it in. Never mind, if all goes well I WILL BE BACK. Regards, Jo

Hi

We were there in December and went out early around 7 pm to make the most of happy hours ! Pirates bar in the Hilton , gazala gardens beach bar then camel roof bar to finish before an evening meal, it was a lovely time of evening and no more hassle than usual , Everywhere had the patio heaters out too so we could still sit outside , have a great time x

Hi lynsky, sounds the sort of thing me and hubby like to do also, really enjoy going into different places for pre-dinner drinks. Were you all-inclusive where you stayed? We are all-inclusive but will be eating out probably 3 times out of our week stay, and probably more if it isn't too good. The only thing would be having to leave the centre to go back to our hotel the Sonesta Beach resort to have our meal after our pre-dinner drinks. We have never done AI before never fancied it, but this Sonesta hotel came up with a not to bad price so thought we can give it a try and reports were really positive about it. But being honest we do prefer B&B. But as our first time we thought we would play safe as was not to sure about wandering about in the Naama area, but after all the info on here it does not sound that hassle is really bad at all. Am used to it anyway having gone to Turkey many years ago, so it wont be a shock to us - hope not anyway. Regards, Jo

Hi

We have our own apartment so tend to eat out most of the time. Your hotel is towards the end of the beach promenade so you can walk along the beach towards the centre of Na ama bay , it's a lovely walk and much less hassle than the main street. Lots of lovely places to stop off at ,you will be spoilt for choice :)

Thanks lynsky, you are so lucky having your own apartment. Yes, I have been told that we are on a promenade so am looking forward to some nice walks to the bars!!!!!! Roughly how many minutes would it take to walk along the prom into the centre from the Sonesta?
