sharks?

I haven't visited Sharm el sheikh since the shark attact, rightly or wrongly. Given the dreadful weather in the Uk we would like to return, if we do i know I wouldn't keep my husband our of the sea. What is the situation at the moment with regard to sharks in the bays.

Don't think there has been a shark attack in a while now. Probably last year

I wouldn't worry about it, the chances are very slim

The last shark attack in Sharm was December 2010.

Nothing has been reported since then.

We were there immediately after the attack, and were kept out of the water.

We were then there a year later (last December) - and were allowed back into the water.

We are booking for December again this year - it hasn't put us off in the least !

We were there in April 2011 and there was no sign of any sharks. We went swimming/snorkelling/diving as usual. Going back to Egypt next week and my husband and 15 and 12 year old kids actually want to see sharks when they go diving, but have never seen one yet!

The sharks are there, they always have been and probably always will be.The chances of seeing one, even when diving at the "normal" dive sites are slim, the chances of seeing one whilst snorkelling are very slim and the chances of actually being bitten by one whilst snorkelling are practically impossible.Don't forget, worldwide, more people are killed by donkeys each year than are killed by sharks.

Hi

We keep in touch with the diving community in Sharm.

So not wishing to alarm anyone that is worried about shark attacks - however this summer in Sharm has already seen a fantastic amount of shark sightings.

Im sure it will help to remember - some shark attacks are fatal - however many people do survive after being bitten.

Hi

MrSmall

Blimey - Never heard of anyone savaged by a DONKEY whilst snorkelling or not.

Is there something you want to tell us about?????.

That's what happens when you try and surprise a donkey from behind!
