Drinking water at the sultan gardens

Hi, we are looking at the sultan for the month of August. Well aware it is very hot, so will want to drink plenty of water. I know you get one large bottle of water in room each day, is there any bars round the complex that issue bottle water for the beach?

There is a shop or was on site, where you can buy additional. However the rest i believe are from large wat fountains, but we went in december, so beach bar i dont think was open.

We just bought extra, so cheap

Plenty of places to get drinks including water all around the resort including the beach but no bottled water other than in your room or buy from shop.

It seems strange that alcohol and other drinks are unlimited but you have to buy water - surely the most necessary drink. Are the water fountains safe to drink from - I would have thought not as the advice is always to drink bottled.

Hi MnCW,

Just to confirm, guests get unlimited drinking water at Sultan Gardens Resort as part of the all inclusive package. Water, like all beverages, is served by glass. In addition to bar and waiter service, there are self serve water dispensers at all restaurants and bars.

Guests may choose to buy a bottle of water just as they may choose to buy a bottle of beer or pepsi, but this should not be necessary and these are mostly available as room service items or for guests who are not on all inclusive board.

Guests get one large bottle of mineral water delivered to their room daily by housekeeping (2 bottles in a room with 4 or more occupants). Guests who require more water in their room may request it from guest relations.

Regarding why we do not serve drinks in bottles around the resort as part of the all inclusive service, we have found that this proves to be quite wasteful. To use a simple example: A guest on all inclusive takes a bottle of water from the bar, takes a sip, then leaves the bottle by their sun bed. The bottle becomes warm and they discard it in favor of a new (cold) bottle, thus wasting the water and the bottle itself. This is obviously not the case with all guests, but it happens enough in an all inclusive setting to warrant attention, particularly as Sharm el Sheikh is in a desert climate (thus amplifying the need not to waste water) and that the Sultan Gardens Resort is a certified Green hotel with environmentally friendly policies in place to limit waste.

We have always drank from the water coolers in the S/G. They are positioned all over the complex at all the bars restaurants etc... We along with most other people just used the empty bottles from the room and refilled from the water coolers. They are the same coolers that you find anywhere with the big 5 gallon bottles attached. Never had a problem using them or using ice from the bar to make the water extra cold. Some hotels have revered to using these coolers to prevent a colossal waste of water.

:-) and I was just about to post the same thing :-)

Just an add on........The Sultan Gardens do have a great enviromental policy in fact when we were there they had employed an enviromental specialist (I am sure she was a Danish lady living in London) to look at all there systems to see how they could become even more enviromentally friendly. The hotel is also self sufficient when it comes to water supply for the pools, gardens etc.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, guess just as easy to keep refilling the same bottle, or pack a plastic bottle

Thanks Basel and everyone for clarifying. When I read water fountains, I was imagining either drinking fountains (ugh!) or taps. Being able to refill bottles from water coolers is great.
